`Lane Kiffin Is A Flat-Out Liar'
Looks like Tennessee might have committed another NCAA violation during an ESPN report. And here's the statement the Raiders issued for the story:
``Lane Kiffin is a flat-out liar. He lied to the team, he lied to the fans, and he lied to the media. He will try to destroy that university like he tried to destroy the Raiders, and will eventually clash with (women's basketball coach Pat) Summitt and (men's basketball
coach Bruce) Pearl.''
Here's the Associated Press story.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee is looking into whether it committed another NCAA recruiting violation by allowing media to be present during a meeting between coach Lane Kiffin and recruits.
A segment of ESPN's "Outside the Lines," which aired Sunday, showed
Kiffin in his office with two people identified by the network as recruits.
According to NCAA recruiting rule 13.10.1, "A member institution shall not permit a media entity to be present during any recruiting contact made by an institution's coaching staff member."
Tennessee spokeswoman Tiffany Carpenter confirmed the review, but
declined further comment.
Tennessee has reported at least four minor recruiting violations since Kiffin was introduced as coach Dec. 1. Athletic director Mike Hamilton said recently the number isn't any more than the school usually reports.
ESPN's "Outside the Lines" segment, which recapped Kiffin's first six months as coach of the Volunteers, also included a statement made by Kiffin's former team, the Oakland Raiders.
Kiffin was fired in September for cause after what owner Al Davis described as acts of insubordination and lying.
Kiffin filed a grievance and is seeking two months pay for the time he was unemployed before being hired at Tennessee.
"Lane Kiffin is a flat-out liar. He lied to the team, he lied to the fans, and he lied to the media," the Raiders' statement said. "He will try to destroy that university like he tried to destroy the Raiders, and will eventually clash with (women's basketball coach Pat) Summitt and (men's basketball coach Bruce) Pearl."
Carpenter declined comment on the Raiders' statement.

He learned to lie from the best (Uncle Pete)!
I don't know what was funnier, the "I'm smarter than that not to tell a recruit they are not going to pump gas video" by Kiff or the hellelous, everybody shaking in their boots from the "were gonna get after him" Slick Rick video. I see ESPY awards on the horizon for both of them, in the category "best two face impression of a Head Coach". Fight On!
kp- Slick Rick, hands down. Funniest video I've EVER seen. What an idiot to rile up the master. Ricky, here comes the woodshed..........agan. RN is a dbag.
How many minor violations does it take to accumulate to the equivalent of a major? LK is a piece of work.
Stay class, Al Davis. What an old buffoon. Programs commit secondary violations all the time. Not newsworthy, except when the press is trying to create news surrounding Kiff. At least he has the SEC's full attention, and best coaching staff. Fight on, Kiff!
DFW- Fight On for the SEC, Tenn. #1.
ego held USC back
I can not believe you would print anything that Al Davis said.
Well,Al Davis also lied when he said the Raiders were committed to excellence!
Is anybody surprised that both Kiffin and Sarkisian both commited NCAA violations almost as soon as they stepped on campus and continue to do so? Why wouldn't they, they learned from the best in Chetey Petey and were use to the dirty SUC administration looking the other way. Just look at Kiffin laughing and joking with with his AD at Tennessee on that ESPN video in front of boosters, in regards to previous violations he had committed. That's how those guys think. They treat the NCAA rule book like doormat.
CHEAT ON!!!!
Kiffin is on Twitter. Kind of makes him media. So, he can't attend his own meeting with the recruits?
True (as he/his ghost Twitterer found out), he can't report on his recruits by name, but this looks like an outdated rule.
