On the other hand there were many, many POSITIVE comments when Paul Hackett was hired, and a storm of protests when Pete Carroll was hired. Time will tell if O'Neill was a good hire.

Kevin O'Neill is the Paul Hackett of basketball coaches.
Then again, when Carroll was hired, I joked that he was just another Paul Hackett, although he looked better than Hackett without a hat on.

I see where many call O'Neill (K.O.) arrogant and abrasive on the court and a charmer off the court. If that is the worst criticism that can be assessed then SC could be o.k.
Can the guy coach and recruit is what I want to see, and you know he will try like heck to show he can. I say give him a chance.
I am starting to like the hire. I am eager to give him a chance. A talented coach with a chip on his shoulder and maybe his last opportunity to achieve great success. Plus, he hates Zona and UCLA. Fight on, KO.

I like this hire. KO is driven and wants to win in order to prove a point that he can coach and rebuild a program. Better to have a coach who wants to be here for these reasons than one that just wants money and a Hollywood lifestyle.

Lawyer John - an optimist to the end. LJ would follow Pete Carroll off a bridge.
