O'Neill Debut
I can safely predict the media will like new coach Kevin O'Neill after meeting him this morning and attending his press conference. He is going to be accessible and impressed the media during and after his press conference.
That's a big first step, when you are the step-child of college basketball in Los Angeles.

step child in LA for football USC will also be.
3 Pac-10 losses this year for Southern Cal i sense.
3rd place finish for Darth Carroll, Yoda predicts.
Tricky Wan-Kenobi, the USC football monpoly will end.
K.O. sounds as if he could become the basketball equivalent of Pete Carroll. Pete was not given a lot of respect at first, having been somewhat of a second or third choice by SC. But now he is No. 1 in the country, despised by all the schools that he beats every year. That is priceless.
K.O. has the work ethic, the great Galen Center, one of the world's best academic schools, one of the best talent pools in Southern California, and the SC athletic legacy going for him. SC was becoming a basketball power, and noone can convince me this ongoing process will not continue.
Whoa! Has anyone else seen the wife, Roberta?!?! Hotter than most SCSGs!
Scott, find bikini pics asap, please!
How big is the "rack"?
I really like KO. Becoming a bigger fan every day.
The so called great Galen Ctr. is worthless for recruiting, not even does the restrooms have automatic flushes for the urinals. School has improved academically , but not one of the world's best by far. Yes, USC's basketball has a big upside over the last 55 years getting to the elite eight once for a great legacy in that sport. The women's program at least won two national titles. Becoming a basketball power with one and done players, losing in the 1st round with a major player, O.J. Mayo, and only making the ncaa tournament this year by having one hot weekend to win the Pac-10 tourney. Keep on being a dreamer. No other coaches have the work ethic, only Kevin O'Neill now that he is the Trojan coach. He is just a stop gap until things get finalized.
Some folks just never see the flowers along the roadway.
It is not the destination that counts, it is the journey to get there.
Lose hope, lose all.
Cynicism in the young is a sad state of affairs.
Put a little more joy into your life-- each day.

If you mean by "one of the world's best universities," one of the top 102, or four spots behind UCSB and 72 spots behind UCLA, then yes, that's true.

Hmm... A ranking in which peer assessment makes up 40% of the score. Sounds like a case of UCLA being overrated and USC being lesser known internationally. Poor USC is grouped with such awful schools like UNC and Vanderbilt. Nice try, Pete.
Who is the most beautiful woman in the world, and which college team was the best in the country over the past 10-years? Depends on who you talk to.
Cherry-picking reports is poor evidence. There also was a recent "official" report that academically in the U.S. the University of Southern California was 14 and SUCLA was 15. Oh, yeah, they both trailed Cal.
So believe what you want. The fact is going to college is a mere 3 years 9 months of one's life. It is the education outside of college that really, truly counts.
Just sayin'
