Wolfie- Let's talk about some former MD Monarchs currently walking on at SC. Who will have the biggest impact and will any of these players contribute in their careers:
1. WR Robbie Boyer
2. HB/FB Ahmed Moktar
3. Basketball Guard Mike Gerrity
A: I have to go with Gerrity because USC is so thin at point guard that he should get plen ty of playing time after he becomes eligible following the ninth game. He's also apparently on scholarship, unlike the others. So he wins hands down, for better or worse.

In another thread Scott you make the following comment "Here's ESPN's Thursday night lineup, including the Civil War, which seems odd for the old rivalry."
Do you think that the schools should have had the game on the usual Saturday schedule? Do you think that they could get a better tv offer?
For fans who attend the games, Thursday night games stink. It is just not the same atmosphere.
A: I do not like traditional rivalry games on Thursdays or for that matter, Saturday nights, like the USC-UCLA game. I believe the Civil War is the longest-running rivalry in the West and for it to be on a Thursday seems kind of cheap to me, even if it raises its profile nationally. It also gets cold that time of year so I'd rather see the teams play a day game.

Another hilite of Twitter coverage was yesterday's gem about David Spice being shorter than he looks, while Landon Donovan actually is as short as he looks!
