Will USC's running backs be better next season?

NCAA death penalty is imminent, i sense.

in an intramural capacity, any rushing will be hmmm?

not the same ring to it, the Pac-9 has.

meditate on this, the Jedi Counsel will.

More from a healthy Marc Tyler doesn't hurt.

McKnight and Tyler/Johnson coupled with Corp would present a 3-prong rushing attack. Hard to defend, Buckeyes, Bears, and Ducks.

LJ,
I think he meant 2010 as next year. After "The Stable" either graduates or (probably) declare early.

So a crowded backfield of McKnight, Gable and Johnson vs. a running game that focuses on Mark Tyler and Curtis McNeal.

Undoubtedly so. Better O-line. All RBs should be improved too. If Joe is healthy, he could have a break-out year. I still like CJ as the most consistent. And, can't wait to see some of Tyler and O'Neal.

I hope Stanley Havili and Simione Vehikite become the the unexpected running back "x factor" that help propel the Trojans into the BCS Title Game, Jan 7th.

As the season approaches, Yoda and hi bruin cohorts get more and more desperate. Please don't make our gutty little bruins have to play the Trojans in an actua game. It is so unfair!. whine whine whine.

Time to go back to westwood.

Yoda, your lucky day, this is. To give you a rose bowl ring coach carroll wants.

Be sized to your unit, it will. An 8 I assuming.

With pride and at your "Pride" Parade wear it. Envious, all your bruin friends will be.

For basketball yet have you bought your new seat, hmm? Only money, is it. Hahahahaha.

Gnossos Author Profile Page said:

yoyo, you better hope it's not the Pac 9, because you and the other 8 will be missing out on your share of the BCS $$$$$$$$$$$$$ that USC brings to the conference.

Good point Gnossos - Yoda, you and the rest of your baby blue friends should be thanking USC for subsidizing the conference.

IMO regarding the RB situation:

Give the ball to Stafon 20-25 times per game. He's proven to be the most consistent guy and deserves that opportunity.

Use McKnight as more of a change of pace guy, split him wide, use him as a decoy, etc - basically move him all over the field. (and teach him how to hold onto the ball on punt returns!)

Let Gable sulk on the sidelines - its what he's best at.

Tyler's time will come next year.

I see Wolfie is still obsessed over his own opinion of USC's having a "poor" running attack, despite the fact that the lowest average per carry among the back who ran the ball a decent amount was 5.1.

If he would talk about the playcalling that sometimes made the running game disappear or lose momentum, that would be a topic of discussion.

However, USC's backs are excellent, it's line is a talented one and mainly a veteran one and the backs will only get better this year.

Wolfie is clueless in LA...

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
