USC 10, Ohio State 10

Jordan Congdon's 22-yard FG ties the game. Why was Jim Tressel passing on third down when a run would kill about 40 seconds? And why couldn't Pete Carroll have any timeouts left for the final scoring drive?

good to have the tie. 'SC was outplayed, and hated the playcalling late in the half at the 29: bomb to the endzone, pitchback to our slowest running back, tough pass incomplete. then the unlucky missed field goal. shades of sark!

buckeyes really gifted us that last field goal, and so far it looks like barkley is a terrific 18-year-old who is limited like any human being his age. there's only so much he can do.

that last drive is not really indicative. all the pressure is off the offense in that circumstance and we got lucky stafon busted that first run, which did not appear to be intended as a big play.

yes, too bad we didn't have a timeout at the end and couldn't run, but we ran out because at least one was called by coach carroll at first and goal at our 3. looked like a wasted timeout, but the defense held, and OSU was forced to take three. that was important for the trojans.

he called another i think on defense on 3rd and 8 ... and the next play was an easy incompletion.

on to the second half ...
