Well . . .

Is this the time to remind of our long-standing belief that USC will not win a national title without Norm Chow.

norm has not won anything without pete, that being said i was really looking forward to bates calling the plays, same as was looking forward to seeing crop get the start. i have been a sc fan for ever & have to say corp was bad, really bad.if the guy is covered dont throw him the freeking ball, you have wheels take off.3 passes should hve been picked & the last one finally was.put a reciever in the game that can go deep, dont care if he catches the ball, just run deep.5 cleasses noe & not one fast reciever that can flat out move, jesus it aint that hard.

The question mark (?) is a terminal punctuation mark in English usually used at the end of a sentence with no extra period. It turns a sentence into a query and can also be used to indicate uncertainty, tentativeness or incredulity. Do not use more than one question mark at the end of a question in formal or academic writing. The question mark is usually used in dialogues and narratives and less so in formal articles.

uscwho: Southern Cal finally did land a top recruit with blazing speed: he won the state track championships in both the 100 and 200 meters...oh, sorry, i forgot, Ricky Neu-Hassle stole him right out from under Chetey Petey's nose.

if fact, it was outside Randall Carroll's house that Neu-Hassle and Chetey had a well publicized hassle over Neu-Hassle trying to steal Chetey's recruit...looks like Neu-Hassle whipped Chetey on that one!

Is it time? I guess any time your ego needs a boost, it must be time.

But seriously...I think any idiot who watches football knows that a NC run benefits from a top-notch creative coach on offense, and a talented QB to pull the trigger. The verdict is still out on Bates (and Morton), but I think it defies logic to categorically state the only guy who can do it is Chow. As far as this year goes, a brutal road schedule and inexperience at QB position made the prospect of a NC pretty unlikely from the start. But like I said, if your ego needs a boost...

I think if USC fans can suck up a little embarassment, they might be able to see that all is not lost. The highest realistic expectation for this team all along has probably been the Rose Bowl, and that can still be reached. The QB situation has been clarified. The "inside" reports who cover USC were not asute enough to determine that Corp isn't capable of running USC's offense, and Carroll was not going to say it. So we had to see it. In retrospect, almost all is explained.

We also know that USC will struggle if they only use half their playbook (either because of the opponent - tOSU, or the QB - UW). Defenses know it, too, and will continue to stack the box until USC is able to use the entire playbook. USC will not win the PAC-10 if they continue to use half the playbook, lose the turnover battle, and underachieve on special teams. But the defense had another solid outing, and I don't think USC is going to concede any of the upcoming games without a real battle. It's time for all true Trojans to Fight On...and people like Scott can continue to say whatever it is that they feel compelled to say.

This is like saying Kobe can't win a title without Shaq. Except Chow hasn't won another title yet either. In any case, people like Wolf will assume it's true until Carroll proves otherwise.

It doesn't have to be Norm Chow.

Pete Carroll has to be humble enough to realize he needs an elite level Offensive Coordinator to take advantage of the superior talent he has across the board.

It seems his pride prohibits him from hiring anyone with significant experience or who has already established themselves.

The Donkey also guarantees that Norm Chow will never win another National Championship without Pete Carroll at the helm.

The Donkey also guarantees Pete Caroll will win an NC before Norm Chow gets anywhere near a BCS bowl.

No, but I think it's time to remind of "our" longstanding belief that you won't win a Pulitzer without Walter Wellesley Smith "ghostwriting" for you.

No Chow, no NC's, it's that simple but the RAH RAH idiots can't stand to hear that Mr. Ego Carroll wasn't and isn't sheet without Chow.

USC will NEVER win another NC with PC at the helm, NEVER.

sorry JAG...Scott speaks the truth...you lose again....bahahahahahahahaha

First of all, Charlie Bucket, what is Chetey? You keep writing that and I have no idea what that word is. Are you trying to say that Pete Carroll is a cheater? If so, prove it. You show me DOCUMENTED PROOF that PC is a cheater and I will NEVER watch, support, attend, give a dime to USC as long as he is coach.

until NC wins a championship, your premise is mute. He got fired at Tenn. and they are better for it. But controversy writes your pay check and I enjoy indulging. Even when you misspell, its good for a bite or two. And by far, your greatest value to us, is introducing us to Amanda.....Oh My! Thank you Thank you

Why do we (SC fans) and Scott think it is our right to win national titles every year? How many Div 1 teams are there? How many of these have a legit shot at a national title? In 5 years (counting this year) SC hasn't won a title without Norm. I would say that if we don't win a title during Barkley's time here then there's a problem.

Trojan Conquest Author Profile Page said:

I don't think this will happen, but what if?????????

- Florida and Texas each lose a game
- USC wins out with big, impressive wins
- Washington has a good year (so it's not like losing to Stanford)

SC would have one loss..........
- on the road
- without their starting QB
- without their All-American safety (how many over the middle passes were completed against SC, including the final 3rd and 15?)

It could happen. They would still probably end up in the Rose Bowl against the Buckeyes or Penn State.

How do *other* teams win national titles without Norm Chow?

Bobo Author Profile Page said:

Scott, I really appreciate your insight on this and on your analysis of the quarterback / Corp situation in general. Not only are you giving us a true insider's view on the program, your insights into the future are very thought provoking. Any other nuggets of wisdom that you can share with us? How about telling us that you think Florida or Texas will likely win the NC this year or that Mays and Barkley will start next game if healthy? I guess with this post you've probably decided that unlikely SC wins NC this year (true) and unlikely that when SC wins the next one that you won't have your blog (also true).

For those idiot trOJan fans above who stated that Norm Chow has not won a national championship without Cheatey Petey, perhaps you should look up who the Offensive Coordinator was at BYU in 1984 when they finished the season #1.

How can you condom fans claim to know anything about football?

sobayquail Author Profile Page said:

The fact remains, USC has not won a national championship since Norm Chow was forced out in part by Lane Kiffin's undermining of him. It is also a fact that PC has blown at least one game per season where SC is an overwhelming favorite.

Charlie Bucket Author Profile Page said:

PeterUCLA: oh snap and double snap. talk about shutting down the Chow haters.

Count Blah: Chetey is a playful jab at Petey referring to his claims of ingnorance in the Reggie Bush scandal...everyone seems to love the name, what's with you??

and if i were you, i would take back that comment to Yo-Duh, i have never seen such a bad karma comment...you don't want that comment floating around out there, waiting to find it's way back to you, trust me.
