It was a wild game in South Bend, especially for the players.
``There were a lot of heart-attack symptoms,'' USC linebacker Chris Galippo said. "This is the most stressed-out game we've had.''

I think there were so many questionable calls in this game down the stretch. It was just like that game ending final drive with Vince Young in the national championship Rose Bowl game against Texas a few years ago. How can there be so many 'judgment calls' against one team, in just about every play of the final drive? I can't help but think there might be some 'invisible hands' that try to make SC lose in some momentous games. Of course those who own those hands would never identify themselves. What a surprise, right?
The flexing penalty on Griff... The ref came up to him and all but jumped on his right arm and when it didn't make a difference, tossed the flag. That was a frustration penalty on the ref. But it's obvious after that flag that the officials were just pissed at the USC defense and were going to toss laundry at anything. That's the only explanation I can come up with that doesn't involve a conspiracy between NBC, the Pope, and the officials.
Pete has lost control of this rivalry. No fault of his own. They are gonna lay a beat down on the Irish in 2010, an absolute beat down. And it won't be like every other game.
Mani Teo (sp.) should have been flagged as he did a "crab" body builder pose after one tackle on an USC player?
So its ok to do one body builder pose and not another?
They gotta be consistent?
The one on Talyor at the sideline was bs.
On the one hear the receiver's head near the end though, that was a legit call. Talyor sliced the guy's helmet off.
Those were our "wonderful" Pac10 refs at work out there.
