In 1977, No. 7 Alabama upset No. 1 USC, 21-20, at the Coliseum. The game featured eight College Football Hall of Famers including Crimson Tide coach Paul "Bear" Bryant and linebacker Woodrow Lowe as well as USC running back Charles White and coach John Robinson.
USC fullback Lynn Cain scored with 38 seconds remaining but the subsequent two-point conversion attempt for the win fell short, sealing the Tide victory

I too was at that game and remember it well. Broke my heart. Although, they would lose again several times that year.
