Poor Aaron. I disagree with a lot of what Wolfie write on this blog, but I agree Aaron Washington performance is on the coaching staff much more than him. He shouldn't be such a pariah. I hope he sticks around and fights back for some playing time.
Can you add a "who cares" vote?
Aaron had a bad game. Obviously he was not like that in practice or scrimmages. Plus it was his first game, and on the road. Sometimes guys have a bad game - unfortunately his the first one he played. But now its over. Its all uphill from here. Fight on and win that job back!
How about this poll:
Should Scott Wolf transfer?
__Yes
__No
__Don't know
Bet it would be 80% yes!!!
Yes, he should transfer and start a lifelong habit of running when things don't go as first planned. I believe that he will stay and get things turned around and be a competent backup to MB7
Yes, CJG should tra...., uhh, ohh, I mean, yes, Aaron should transfer.
We need to realize two things in evaluating Corp. One is that at this level with a pro style offense, it is rare to have even a redshirt sophomore ready to start and succeed. Matt Leinart, still arguably the best college quarterback ever, was a question mark clear through week 5 at Arizona State. It's not a knock on Corp to say he just isn't ready this year. The other thing to keep in mind is that Barkley is a very different cat. I still cannot imagine a true high school freshman starting at any high school, let alone a nationally elite program.
These two factors add up to the fact that Corp is not the best quarterback of the two, Maybe if Sanchez stayed this year, Corp's experience might have given Barkley's raw ability a run in 2010. But things didn't play out that way.
No doubt, he did play poorly against Washington. If I were him I would be obsessed day and night correcting what went wrong during that game. The idea is to turn a negative into a positive.
There were many problems in the Washington game, and I do not blame the loss on Corp. But Corp didn't look like part of the solution either. Barkley does. JMO, but I'm certain that others agree with me.
As far as Corp transfering...I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that maybe Corp should decide for himself. Wolf probably believes that keeping this topic alive is somehow helpful to Corp, but I think that most thoughtful people realize the exact opposite is true. The beneficary here is Wolf.
TRANSFER KID AND DO IT NOW !!!! Coach EGO hates your freaking guts, get to a program that has SOME IMAGINATION FOR CHRIST SAKE !
Cincinnati, Utah, Florida, Boise State, there are a lot of them out there for you to shine.
Barack The Magic Negro YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
