Testy Exchange
Here's an interesting exchange from my story on Matt Barkley and Jimmy Clausen.
In one memorable scene, Clausen chased USC defensive end Malik Jackson off the field following Jackson's roughing-the- passer penalty.
"He said, `Good job, Malik. Good job, Malik. (Dummy),' '' Jackson said. ``What could I say? I messed up.''
Jackson made sure to find Clausen after the game to return the favor.
``I said, "Good job Jimmy. You (jerk).' He just kept walking," Jackson said.

I thought you misspelled the headline and were commenting on the hit Taylor Mays delivered on that pink Adidas hair extension wearing twerp. But this was about Malik and Jimmy. I still think the title is misspelled. Clausen's may be made of immitation brass, but they are still too small to be keepers. He should trade up.
Jackson again shows his immaturity and lack of discipline and class by "jerking" Jimmy at the end. I agree that the coaches need to severely chastise the team regarding those ignorant PFs
BoscoH ... Talyor's hit on the receiver was helmet to helmet, that was out of line. His hit took the guys helmet off. Officials were correct.
But you know, this is how Pete coaches his players:

They were wrong on Talyor's hit near the sidelines.
They flagged Mays for "hitting a defenseless player (with pink Adidas hair extensions)". The crappy part about that is if the receiver had broken free, he wouldn't have been called down. Despite appearances by the Irish, this isn't the Lingerie League.
joewillie.............go buy a DVR so you know what you are talking about. Mays totally missed the guy and hit the SC player. The SC player who tackled him pulled the helmet off. I think some of you are confusing the late hit by Mays on the out of bounds (which it wasn't) and the other play.
They didn't call a helmet to helmet, and they didn't call a late hit. But, the official obviously that it was too aggressive of a hit, so he reached for "defenseless player." This is typically only used when a receiver is hit after an incomplete pass. But, this pass was caught.
Terrible call. It was just a great hit that the refs overreacted on. Will Pinkie be wearing his hair extensions to class on Monday? I don't think so.
In an obvious effort to not seemed bias, the Pac 10 crew penalized USC for things that would never be called in a regular Pac 10 environment. YES, some of the roughing the passer stuff can be controlled so that officials aren't given an opportunity to flag it. However, the hit on Pinky was not illegal, vicious in any way, or dirty. The out of bounds late hit was just a flat out miss. Notre Dame hit Joe McKnight out of bounds twice with no flag; one time he had been out of bounds for approximately 12 yards and still got tackled. THAT is dangerous and cheap. THAT should have been flagged. No flag. Drive stalls (flag would have been an automatic first down). Result of the drive was a FG.
The guy had the pink hair extension to promote breast cancer awareness...kind of hard to knock him for that. The refs blew some calls. What else is new when a game is played at ND?
