The Top 25
Here's this week's ballot for the Associated Press poll.
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Alabama
4. LSU
5. Cincinnati
6. Virginia Tech
7. Mississippi
8. Kansas
9. Nebraska
10. USC
11. Miami, Fla.
12. Boise State
13. Ohio State
14. Oklahoma
15. TCU
16. BYU
17. Georgia
18. Utah
19. Georgia Tech
20. Iowa
21. Oregon
22. Auburn
23. Boston College
24. Notre Dame
25. Pittsburgh

Wolf, how do you determine these rankings? I'd love to hear about your method. I'm with you on some skepticism about USC's ranking, but I honestly want to know if you think your #5 - #9 teams would beat USC... I don't see it. Also, you've got no love at all for Boise State!
Did you not see the scoreboard last night? OKLAHOMA LOST AGAIN!!! THEY NEED TO BE OUT!
1. Fla
2. Alabama
3. Texas
4. VT
5. USC
LSU did not look convincing vs GA, Washington, MissState. LSU offense against GA last night looked like USC without Barkley.
Wolfie- I appreciate you for posting your ballot on this site and opening yourself up to criticism...so here's my criticism:
How many other teams' games have you watched this year? Without looking it up, who is the leading rusher and receiver for Cincinnati? What kind of offense do they run? Who is Virginia Tech's best defensive player? What is the best win so far for Ole Miss? Name 1 player on Kansas other than Todd Reesing. Were you more impressed with Nebraska's win over Florida Atlantic, Arkansas State, or Louisiana-Lafayette?
Thank goodness the AP isn't part of the BCS any more.
Wolfie's ballot is a great example of why we need playoffs in college football...
Your love for all things Big 12 should disappear asap. Oklahoma was knocked off last night, yet with 2 losses remains way too high on your list, but at least they did schedule those opponents, which is more than most teams above them on the list can say.
As to Kansas and Nebraska, huh?! No problem with the Texas spot, though.
As to the love for mississippi, with those 3 wins over Div 2 schools, in practicality, and a loss to South Carolina - geez, Wolfie, you've lost it!
Cincinnati's chief win might be its defeat of Fresno State, at home!!!
USC should get more attention, mostly by default. So should Boise State and Oregon.
MISSISSIPPI????????????? Nebraska ???? Kansas????
Did you get some good hash last night in Bezerkley Wolfie and smoke it before you filled this out?
Your attempt at comedy falls flat here Wolf.
Oh .. and I'm not even going to bring up Miss, Cinn, Kansas, Neb ahead of USC because then I'm really going to get mad.
Mr. Wolf, I agree with other members on this site that I am shocked that Ol'Miss, Kansas and Nebraska are ranked higher than USC considering that they haven't beaten a ranked team this year (USC beat OSU and Cal).
I don't have a problem with your top five but I am also surprised that Penn State or Stanford are not on the list.
Seems like the only plausible explanation for this mess of a poll is to generate interest/commentary from members on the site. If so, job well done.
It also highlights the flaws in the overall system since, like Scott, many other voters/coaches don't know much beyond their specific team.
This poll made Bruce Feldman's twitter.
Scott must have done this to make Bruce Feldman's Twitter page...

As always, the real AP Poll corrects all of Scott's mistakes:
1 Florida (54) 4-0 1486 1
2 Texas (1) 4-0 1416 2
3 Alabama (5) 5-0 1404 3
4 LSU 5-0 1290 4
5 Virginia Tech 4-1 1200 6
6 Boise State 5-0 1185 5
7 Southern California 4-1 1108 7
8 Cincinnati 5-0 1004 10
9 Ohio State 4-1 994 9
10 TCU 4-0 940 11
11 Miami (Fla.) 3-1 931 17
12 Iowa 5-0 823 13
13 Oregon 4-1 676 16
14 Penn State 4-1 564 15
15 Oklahoma State 3-1 563 14
16 Kansas 4-0 513 18
17 Auburn 5-0 428 27
18 Brigham Young 4-1 403 20
19 Oklahoma 2-2 370 8
20 Mississippi 3-1 357 21
21 Nebraska 3-1 333 23
22 Georgia Tech 4-1 311 25
23 South Florida 5-0 238 29
24 Missouri 4-0 215 26
25 South Carolina
Do you vote like this to get people participating on your blog or are you really this clueless?
Scott, we are waiting for the Steve Spurrier "it really wasn't me didnt vote for Tim Tebow for pre-season all SEC team press conference" where you tell us all that it really wasn't you who voted this way.
For your next round of Q&A, would love to hear your logic behind Ole Miss, Kansas, and Nebraska votes. I'm serious.
It's early in the season still. I'm surprised Oregon doesn't get some more love. They looked dominant against Cal, and only loss was to Boise State.
Any beat writer who explicitly states that the team he is covering will not win another championship without its old offensive coordinator cannot be trusted to participate in such a ballot. Wolf now has an agenda to make sure that his prediction will hold true.
By the way, where are Charlie Bucket, FSC, CalGirl and those other idiots today?
Isn't it obvious how Wolfie is voting on his ballot?
He takes his poll from the previous week (going back to the preseason) and only looks to penalize teams for their loses, rather than reward them for their wins.
This is the only possible explanation to rank Ole Miss 7, Kansas 8, and Nebraska 9 - not one of those teams has a signature win (the best of which is sadly either Kansas by 7 over Southern Miss (3-2) at home or Ole Miss @ Vandy (2-3). Not to belittle Cincy, because they've played some good ball, but this method also explains them up at 5 - clearly going undefeated (no matter who you play) has more weight than beating quality teams.
Conversely, looking at certain teams' losses, I suspect Wolfie justifies keeping a 2-2 OU team at 14 (two spots above BYU, whom they lost to) because they've lost 2 games on the road by 2 total points....but also have yet to beat anybody (Idaho and Tulsa?!). Also, ignore the fact that Oregon has wins over Utah and California and has looked better every week since the debacle @ Boise...they lost in ugly fashion in week 1, and that will continue to haunt them and keep them from moving up.
If anyone else can explain Wolf's reasoning better (perhaps Mr. Wolf would like to step up and do so himself?) I'd like to hear it, because that's the most sense I can make out of it...
Sadly, as misguided as Wolf's ballot may seem, many coaches put even less insight into their own ballots (and pimp their own conferences as well) - and their votes actually count toward the BCS. Scary. In the end, those are the votes we should actually be worrying about.

Scott's just mad that he hasn't won an award on pollspeak this year yet. Typically, he gets at least a monthly write-up. If you get frustrated by Scott's poll, then he is winning.
CalGirl, come out, come out wherever you are!!!
SW, I'd strongly doubt that the Vegas linesetters would favor your #s 3-9 over USC on any field today! Could you discuss how you would?
Thanks
GK
Listen guys, this is how Scott fills out his ballot...
He has yoyo and chuck go into a airtight room with Kalgirl, he gives them some model glue, the ballot and turns out the lights and tells them to not come out until the ballot is finished.
Mr. Wolf, is this some sort of a joke? You have managed to create one of the most ignorant ballots I have ever seen. For example, how in the world could anyone possibly rate Utah ahead of Oregon? Don't bother trying to think of an explanation because there is none. In the future, please try your hardest to refrain from being a complete idiot.
ARE YOU A MORON?!?! No, really. Are you some sort of idiot? Who hired you??? Wow....
hahahahaha
LMFAO! Now let's see the ballot you actually submitted to the AP...
Nebraska(3-1):
wins over Florida Atlantic, Arkansas St and Louisiana-Lafayette.
Kansas(4-0):
wins over UTEP, Duke, Southern Miss, and Northern Colorado.
Cincinnati(5-0):
wins over Rutgers, Southeast Missouri St, Fresno St, Oregon St, and Miami(OH).
Mississippi(3-1):
wins over Memphis, Southeastern Louisiana and Vanderbilt.
I have no problem at this point of the season ranking USC as low as #10- they will have ample opportunity to move up if they keep winning. But it is laughable that apparently SW doesn't consider it important to put a few quality wins on your resume. What a douchebag.
