More surprising development at Homecoming: The way our defense was manhandled by Stanford? Or the fact that Art Bartner was able to come up with enough songs from this decade to fill an entire CD in his new 2-CD collection?
A: Definitely the latter. I liked the halftime show recycled performance of the 80's hit, ``99 red balloons'' by attributing it to a remade version.
Q: Trojan Conquest said: Taylor Mays is obviously not playing very well. Which points do you think are valid?
- Still injured?
- Overrated?
- Affected by the new rule of blowing up defenseless receivers?
- Something else?
A: I think he should be playing closer to the line and maybe even at linebacker to get closer to the action so that he doesn't feel like he's stopping a touchdown on every tackle. His injury might be an issue also because he plays with a knee brace.

When I watched the Washington State game and noticed we could not establish our running game and noticed that they played better in the second half. I left the game worried about the future for this team.
Our offense and defense in the second half in most games has been dismal, what do you think is the cause of this. It seems this team cannot keep their mind in the game to finish strong.
A: I also thought it was a big warning sign that USC scored only 27 points against Washington State.

In regards to Stanford.
Stanford has historically played USC tough at the Coliseum.
I agree. Mays should line up in the same time zone as the rest of the defense. Unless they're trying to pull some kind of Notre Dame like trick play where they hide him at the sideline and then he comes on the field unblocked to make an interception.
I remember talk last year after Mays said he was coming back that he might play the other safety position or even linebacker to get him in more plays. What happened?
