A: In many respects, yes. USC got outcoached. But don't just blame Carroll. Blame Bates. Blame special teams too.

A: What perplexes me is that USC's special teams seem to have a different problem each week. Poor punts. Poor kickoffs. Bad kickoff coverage. Bad snaps. I realize there are new people performing the kicking duties but a full-time coach is supposed to be a mitigating factor. At this point, Sam Anno looks like he is missed.
There is no doubt that Sam Anno is missed! Too bad he was run out of the program in favor of Dennis Watson
Am I missing something? Bates doesn't coach the defense. SW Why don't you admit you don't care for Bates which is as obvious as your baldness(!)?
