Armchair Critics
In case you missed the Morning Buzz, linebacker Chris Galippo accepted that fans would criticize him and the other linebackers for failing to stop the run against Stanford.
``Any time you give up 55 points, everyone is a Monday morning quarterback and has the greatest solution in the world,'' Galippo said. ``That's part of playing in a big-time program.''

"yessiree… that's part of the deal-io...having to listen to all these fat idiot couch potatoes who don't know what they’re talking about...just goes hand-in-hand with big time football..." (said in Barney Fife voice)
It's fairly common, Scott. CPC is circling the wagons and telling his kids that if the people are not with them, they're against 'em...us against the world.
What is he supposed to do? Give up like ucla and just accept losing or would you rather he try to rally the troops and get them back on track.
Call me a "sunshine pumper" but the difference between winning a game is often what happens in the first 2-3 series in a game.
Against Oregon, Arizona State, and Stanford, our offense sputtered and our defense did okay.
Oregon was fired up, at home and had a chip on their shoulder...if Oregon had beaten Boise St in Game 1, I believe that they lose at least 2 games in Pac 10 and maybe 3. The Boise loss coupled with the Blount incident gave that program something to rally around--it's us against the world.
Arizona State is a stout team that is looking for an identity. Erickson is close to turning that program around...last year was the aberration...they are a top 5 PAC 10 team and should be year in and year out.
Stanford has this great underdog mantle that is suddenly no longer valid. What will happen to the Cardinal now that they can no longer claim that they do not get the respect that they "deserve" and have worked so hard to get. It's easy to get it every once in a while and go on a streak, but to maintain that level week in and week out, year after year, is quite another thing altogether.
If USC does indeed win out and win the bowl game, they will most likely finish in the top 12 and follow up with another stellar recruiting class. Most of the players on this team are coming back and it would not surprise me at all if a couple of guys (McKnight, Johnson, Bradford...) come back with a Chip (pun intended) on their shoulder. 2010 has always been the target year as far as I have been concerned and the fact that we beat a very good OSU team in Columbus, a prolific ND team in Southbend and a tough Cal team in Berkeley and a stout Arizona State team in Phoenix shows that this team does have ability and IF healthy, perhaps could have made a better run. Right now, I want to bury the bruins and skin the 'cats...let's make it to a bowl and crush another OoC opponent.
Let's keep it in perspective though, it's football...that's it.
Hey, Wolfie, he's talkin' about you!!!!!!!!!!!
You should not have to beg Division I football players to work hard in Practice (not a game... Not A Game....Practice). Sh*t, Uncle Pete, why didn't he say, 'guys arn't working hard in 'passive'.' Because that is how we played!
Or maybe, guys on the team can't deal with the bullsh*t favortism and think they deserve a shot to play...i.e. A. Bradford, and some guys need to not play...Rhett Ellison*, Shane Horton (hears a who), Tupou the Loafer! (Replacement for The Real McCoy)
Or maybe play guys who can do their job... The LB change last week is baffling! Using a DL inplace of a LB could have been done by sending T. Mays in. He would have been closer to the LOS, faster to the LOS, and strong enough to blow up blocks and make tackles!
Joe McKnight had a better game... and its about time, but the guy is still not physical. And he is not leaving! he'll be back next year.
What??? oh, that sound is Emanual Moody and Broderick Green Laughing!
