Actually, with all of the defenses we are playing that like to rush the ends so hard, I'd like to see SC run the old Belly play to Havili (if he's healthy) against Ucla. It would give Arizona something else to prepare for.

I'd also like to see Carroll/Bates open up the playbook and let these kids run a few gadget plays. Statue of Liberty or a Halfback pass, maybe a hook and lateral to Rojo? I think USC can boost a lot of morale and pride with these youngsters if they put something fun like that into the game.

Football Fun, ladies and gentlemen, it's what it's all about.

This is a non-question. No chance of this happening. They are completely behind Barkley and the more you can prepare him for next year the better. Norm Chow was on the radio in Arizona this week and said that the Quarterback is everything in College Football.

I'd like to see SC use the middle of the field more when passing the ball. Every play seems like we're in the middle of a 2-minute warning - working the sidelines with nothing across the middle. In fact, the only center of the field pass play I can remember is the tight end up the seam (which always seems to be open, it's just that either Barkley misses it or Ayles drops it). SC almost concedes 2/3 of the field with the whole "horizontal aerial attack" game plan. Going wide may be a good idea for a team with good speed, but doing it while forsaking the middle of the field is just plain foolish. I don't know if they are afraid that one of Barkley's high or off-target passes is going to get picked or what, but SC needs to start playing to win and push all their chips to the middle of the table - and that includes throwing the ball over the middle.

This is WHY Barkley is starting this year. We dominate every stat in this rivalry except two embarassing ones: longest streak and longest streak by a single qb. McNown is the only qb to have 4 straight wins against the other. Barkley is the only one to have a shot at it in PC's tenure. Fight On Matt! But it means you have to stay long enough to get 2 Heismans.

19 yo MB7 & 4 TOs/gm = tenured starter
Mustain = Matt Cassel? can only see the field in the NFL

Yeah, PC really knows how to evaluate QBs.
