Pete Carroll on how to improve USC's problem with missed tackles.
``It's a matter of getting it done,'' he said. ``When you're late and reaching, it adds to missed tackles. We missed three alone on the opening kickoff.''

Maybe teaching the ancient art of wrapping up instead of throwing a shoulder into a guy looking to make ESPN's Top Ten with knockout blows would help. Or you can just be like Taylor Mays and be overrated because you blow people up after the whistle.
You've got to have a very short memory about these kinds of losses after learning from the mistakes committed in them. Coach Carroll, let's just win out the remainder of this season, and build on it for the next season. I think we've got a real legitimate shot at winning it all with a second-year starter Matt Barkley at the helm and a more experienced defense. Find a few game makers on the offense, just like we did in Mike Williams, Reggie Bush, DeWayne Jarret and LenDale White. With almost all of the key members of the current national contenders graduating into the NFL next year, I think the crystal ball is definitely within reach. Fight on!!!

About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
