USC v. TCU
That is who the Trojans play in the first round of Sports Illustrated's playoff bracket.
No. 1 Florida (217 points) vs. No. 16 Utah (16)
No. 2 Texas (208) vs. No. 15 Ohio State (19)
No. 3 Alabama (205) vs. No. 14 Houston (45)
No. 4 Cincinnati (169) vs. No. 13 Pittsburgh (46)
No. 5 TCU (147) vs. No. 12 USC (60)
No. 6 Oregon (147) vs. No. 11 Penn State (80)
No. 7 Iowa (146) vs. No. 10 Georgia Tech (105)
No. 8 Boise State (146) vs. No. 9 LSU (118)

I see a major problem here,
No. 4 Cincinnati (169) vs. No. 13 Pittsburgh (46? They are both in the same conference. Does not seem fair.
This model is neither accurate nor realistic.
If there were a 16 team playoff, it would not include the "top" 16 teams, it would include all conference champions plus a few at-large bids. Since there are 11 conferences, there would be 5 at-large bids. Right now those at-large bids would go to:
SEC #2
SEC #3
Pac 10 #2
Big 10 #2

Don't let this sham of a "playoff" tint your lenses rose colored. This is one of the reasons a 4 or eight team playoff is continually voted down. There is no equity for the BCS Busting conferences. Why vote for a playoff that essentially eliminates your conference from any sort of contention?
