Griffen Goes Pro

USC defensive end Everson Griffen said Saturday night he would skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft.
“I’ve known for awhile,” Griffen said. “I’m proud of myself. I came a long ways (in my career). It was a difficult decision but I’ve got to do what I do.”
Griffen played only a few series in the Emerald Bowl after he sprained an ankle. His decision was not a surprise despite the fact he did not become a full-time starter until this season.
“He really had his sights on it,” USC coach Pete Carroll said. “He’s done very well. He’s one of those guys so determined to go pro.”
