About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Cant say I blame DW since Pete appears to be well on his way to becoming Troys version of Nero. Not to mention, Damian has to have some mixed fellings how Pete has treated his buddy Mustain, who helped bring DW to USC to begin with.
Other than Petes incredibly tired cliches of how things will magically turnaround, what indication is there that anything will be different in 2010.
Scott, maybe you can write the book "Pete Carroll: The Final Days"
Best of luck to Damian if he elects to go pro. Sure, the team needs him next year, and he'd probably get a little better. But he's pretty good now, he's got his degree, and perhaps has a chance to get drafted in an early round and make a nice living for himself. He's certainly got far fewer question marks than the other guys thinking of leaving early.
USC'89, there isn't any indication that 2010 will be different ( it might be worse ) in fact it's quite clear from Ego Pete that he won't change a thing since in his feeble mind, nothing's wrong.
He's the #3 receiver on Mel Kiper's Draft Board (for what it's worth), I'm not sure who's coming out next year.
He looks ready and most importantly, he's healthy.
Good luck and Fight On!
Someone get this guy a Land Rover so we can end the speculation and just say his college career is over. There must be a US China Marketing guy somewhere that can help?
With the wholesale exodus of know talent leaving, is the guru planning on playing a complete freshman team in 2010, maybe they will all be his love children like the anointed MB. Unfortunately for the sunshine pumpers, Peter Perfects best days are behind him. I doubt we will see the glory days of yore again with this self indulgent clown at the helm.
Given the injuries, including DW's this year, it is not hard to understand that he must make this move now, if he is as high a pick as it looks. Will miss him. All you Bruin faithful simply don't have any draft-worthy candidates who are sought-after enough to leave. As for PC, need to look over the offensive coaching line up with a critical eye or will not be able to replace these quality players who have real choices in the Pac-10 now with Sark competing for them.
SoCalMAB,
all very well and good, you missed both of the Oregon schools, Cal, Stanford, and Arizona who all have bonafide programs not mention the WAC and MWC who also have very, very good programs. USC is no longer the ONLY school that a player can make a name for himself. If Pete doesn't make a coup this recruiting season, the future depth charts are going to be extremely short.
No Trojan is more NFL-ready than D-Will. I expect a pro bowl career. The kid is a pure WR born to play in the NFL. Fight on, D-Will. Make us proud. Would love to see the Chiefs draft you...Cassel to Damian....that would be potent.
I hate to see him leave but cant really see where he would have anything to gain by coming back another year. My guess is that it would be between him and Dez Bryant being the 1st Wide Receiver chosen and I'd give the edge to Damian. He will be a star receiver in the NFL.
This confirms what I've been forced to say several times in responce to Scott's repetitive criticism of Carroll's decision not to redshirt De'von Flournoy. That is...a really good WR (or RB) isn't going to return for a 5th year anyway. So why redshirt Flounoy if there's a chance he'll be needed? Turns out he wasn't needed, but I'll ask again...name a 5th year WR who's made a difference at USC...or any other school in the recent past. The top 3 WRs choosen in the 2009 draft all redshirted, and all didn't stay for more than 4 years anyway. They all wasted a year. It seems as though Carrol has learned from this, but others haven't. Obviously, the verdiict is out on Flournoy, but if he's a difference maker, he's gone after 3 or 4 years, regardless.
