Staff Changes?
Didn't sound like Pete Carroll was contemplating swinging the axe anytime soon, no matter how popular some of his assistants may or may not be.
```I don't know. There will be a lot of movement as always. We have a lot of really talented guys, it's all what comes our way, who comes after our guys, we'll have to wait to see,'' he said. ``But we're going to fight this thing out together. If that's what you're asking, whether I'm going to make staff changes, we're going to fight this thing out and make it work.''
That was what I was asking, by the way.
Ms Shelburne, just wanted to mention that on the few times that you appear in this blog, you deliver such a breath of fresh air, and a feeling of real professional input. Thanks for pinch hitting,I for one really appreciate what you bring to this blog.
Is it me or has nobody questioned Rocky Seto as our defensive coordinator? It seems like Bates receives most of the criticism among assistants and deservedly so, but the blame has to go around to the coordinator who allowed over 100 points to Stanford and Oregon combined. Just a thought...
The amazing thing IMO, is that between Carroll, Seto, Norton, and Franklin not one of them has been able to get their students to consistently make good tackles. The only explanation i that either they're poor teachers or they have poor students. Perhaps a combination of both. I'll leave the issue of undisciplined defense, missed assignments, and unseemly turnovers for another debate.
Okay.
we lost how many players to the NFL a year ago? and how many of those guys are starting? in the NFL? as rookies? There is a learning curve in any endeavor and regardless of potential, there is NO substitute for experience. Next year, we will have a suspect secondary, but our front seven will be monsters.
Thanks,
it's Scott Wolf's blog Torpedo...get over it....hahahahaha
WH,
It's hard to blame Seto, when Carroll is really in charge of the D. And poor D play only contibuted to two losses. I though the D played well enough that Washington and Arizona could have been wins if the offense had shown up. As long as Seto can recruit(?), I don't have a problem with him. Like Cheatthesystem said, the D should get better with experience, good fundamental position coaching, and sucessful recruiting. I think it is unlikely that USC will pursue a strong DC as long as Carroll is here.
