Weis Apologizes To Carroll
Former Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis called Pete Carroll today and apologized for some comments Weis said were misconstrued by a writer.
``He couldn't have been more apologetic and felt horrilble,'' Carroll said. ``He said he was talking about the Internet to five writers and one of them screwed it up.''
Weis said he was talking about how the Internet rumor mill can affect people's lives and was not directing his comments at Carroll. He asked the site, IrishIlustrated.com, to remove their story.

Weis: "Let me ask you this question: You guys know about things that go on in different places. Was I living with a grad student in Malibu, or was I living with my wife in my house? You could bet that if I were living with a grad student here in South Bend, it would be national news.
"He's doing it in Malibu and it's not national news. What's the difference? I don't understand. Why is it OK for one guy to do things like that, but for me, I'm scrutinized when I swear. I'm sorry for swearing; absolve my sins."
Why would he apologize for something that has been well known in USC circles for at least three years? Besides, Weis never actually apologized for the comment or said that it was incorrect; only that it was "taken out of context."
In this case it turns out Weis' comments about Carroll were off the record but were still published without his permission. Hence, the use of the phrase "taken out of context."
Is that grad student the hot brunette I always see on Pete's arm in Manhattan Beach? Maybe what Fat Charlie meant to say was that Pete was with a grad student in Manhattan Beach but got it wrong by saying Malibu. They are not really too close to each other.
Yeah, I have also been curious as to why Pete lives in Manhattan Beach while his wife Glena lives in Rolling Hills. Weird?
Good thing Pete has a winning record, just ask Keith Burns.
We all have heard the same stories about Pete's split with Glenna, and yet, there was a local newspaper photo of PC and Glenna posing gushingly with Bill Clinton when Clinton was in Redondo for a speech recently. It was either the Easy Reader or Beach Reporter.
Regardless of Pete's private life.... Charlie is a complete douche, why would you ever comment on someone else's private life like that to the media as a college football coach.... Classless and a complete breach of the man code! Would you want this guy as apart of your team???

How about this for a man code: worry about yourself and let others take care of their own business. For Charlie to air Pete's (alleged) dirty laundry for no good reason was just classless, and illustrates quite nicely why no one outside of Bill Belicheck likes the dude.
Pete posing with Bill Clinton is not a good endorsement for fidelity. I wonder if Glenna has a deal like Tiger's wife?
