A little more from Cooper

| | Comments (13) |

Here's what USC coach Michael Cooper told Washington reporters about his ``(bleep) UCLA'' remark. It's the only public statement he's made following the expletive he used after USC's win over UCLA on Sunday, other than the apology letter he sent to UCLA coach Nikki Caldwell.
"My apology statement (to coach Caldwell) will stand to speak for me. It's said and done. Obviously I'm not proud of it (the comment). My apology has been made, and we're moving forward."

Cooper put his voice to what a lot of us have been thinking for a long time.

bosco, thinking it is fine. but if you come out and say it publicly, then stand behind your words. i hope you would not turn into a groveling whipped dog, like "coop". oh he talked real big at first and then when called on it, immediately turns into a big whippering sissy.

"coop", if you have the balls to back up your fat mouth, then you should say, "that's how i feel, and i dont apologize for that, but i shouldn't have said it to the press" otherwise you are going down as a cowardly, classless big mouth.

he should take lessons from classy Kevin O'Neil. or if he wants to play with the big boys, study Neu-Hassle who is a master of classy yet pointed rhetoric.

Bucket, the only thing that Neuheisel is a master at is "baiting"

OK...we all agree that F-bombs don't belong in press conferences. Coop said he was sorry.

But a coach dropping an F-bomb just isn't that newsworthy. Lots of coaches drop lots of F-bombs every day. Kinda like death and taxes. Let's move on, Jill.

What more do you expect him to say? He got caught up in the moment and made a mistake and publicly apologized. Certainly wasn't a classy move and we should expect better of our coaches but it's time to move on. And if he does it again, definite suspension and possible termination.

You RUINS think you are so good but basically you are just trash. Wasn't Tommy Cable an OC and head coach for your Butt-loved Ruins, so I guess it is alright to break jaws. We already know you don't have to break wind because you already are above that, is it true that the O-Zone layer is disappearing above Ucla.

Jill - You are really squeezing the "oink" out of the pig on this one aren't you? Next Monday's column titled "Cooper say's "bleep UCLA" remark now in the past"!

PS - I have a question for other readers...I'm fairly new to this site and live in NorCal, is the Daily News an actual newspaper one can purchase on the news stand or is it a on-line university - student type free newspaper?

this is an obvious example the usc lacking institutional control

Coop said what all USC fans think about UCLA. UCLA fans all think the same about USC. This is obvious. Where Coop went wrong was to say it...and to say it to the media. This gave UCLA fans another thing to point at as reasons why USC coaches are classless. USC fans claim he apologized and moved on...blah blah blah. To defend Coop...everyone at some point(s) in their life has let their emotions get the better of them. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

Not much else to debate here folks. Let's move on.

It's a good thing Magic and Big Game James weren't at the presser. Coop would have said "F--- UCLA" and those two would have looked at each other and said, "I think we already did."

No, "Coach" Cooper, your apology won't "stand to speak" for you (is that Figueroa English?) - but your expletive will. Niiiccceeee...

PK-in the mesa: not sure exactly what you are saying, but pretty funny and delivered with conviction. nice work.

my last comment on "coop" is this: i wonder what he will say to "The Captain", his leader on the Lakers, Kareem... one of the greatest UCLA F&%#'s of all.

i think maybe Kareem will kick his scrawny little booty through a wall. for you whippersnappers, Kareem used to train with Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris and skinny buck and a half Coop better keep his distance i think.

Kareem can't kick Coop's ass because he too HIIIIGH on the hippie lettuce.
