Barry Intrigue
Joe Barry was quoted this morning saying he was hired at USC. Lane Kiffin said about 35 minutes ago he was not hired. It's going to be interesting to see how this turns out. Does anyone think Barry would say he was hired if he was not?

Not at all. Kiffin is travelling and may have not been aware that the news was already out and didn't want to jump the gun in case Barry and Tampa had not released the info. He's hired. Or, perhaps his ole man forgot to tell Kiffin.
Scott Wolf appears to be the only one confused in all of this.

If it were only reported here, there would be cause for suspicion, but since Lev reported it at the OCR blog, you can bet el crapytan's purse, fishnets and 4" stillettos that it's a go.

Yes, its very clear what is going on. Lame Kitten knows exactly how much of a crappy hire this is ( certainly a huge step down from Norton), and he was hoping to keep this news silent until AFTER signing day so as not to scare off any possible LB commits. HAHA Wouldn't shock me one bit.

What is going on, Lame-O? Why would Barry say something about being hired if you hadn't? What clowns are leading the program over at USC? Hope this smoothes over for Barry and his family. Best of luck to them.

Barry is locked. No one leaves a job and asks to be let out of a contract without another contract offer signed, sealed and delivered. Ignore Wolf he is always about 3 to 6 hours late with his info, you can actually set your watch by it, if you don't mind consistently being 3 hours late.
After reading some other sites, Barry may have some issues getting out of his contract with the Bucs. Apparently, Tampa takes none too kindly to coaches skipping out on contracts. I don't know how that could really keep someone from leaving though, since every coach in the world seems to have broken a contract to get where they are today (Kiffin, Meyer, Brian Kelly, Derek Dooley, etc)
It also looks like this might be another reason for the state of Tennessee to hate us, since they were looking at Barry for the defensive coordinator position:
