BCS Revenue
The BCS released its revenue distribution today. The Mountain West and WAC took home substantially less than the other conferences with teams in the BCS games. This means that the standard payout information given in bowl listings is a bit misleading, and that, this year, at least, the payouts to the teams playing in the Fiesta Bowl were less than to the teams in the other BCS Bowls.
Mountain West $9.8 million
Western Athletic $7.8million
Conference USA $2.8 million
Mid-American $2.1 million
Sun Belt $1.5 million
Atlantic Coast, Big East, Big 12, Pac-10 -- $17.7 million each
Big Ten, Southeastern -- $22.2 million each (Note: These two conferences each had two teams in the BCS bowls).

I think the Sun Belt Conference, 0-10 vs. the SEC, should receive a share of the SEC's money.
Not much difference year to year for PX in the BCS since we don't get the extra teams in. In fact a bad year for SC and no championship contender turned out to be better.
The Big 10 and Big 12 have been trading some big pay days with the SEC who ordinarily comes out on top in money.
In the non-BCS bowls the PX fall even farther behind all the BCS conferences but the Big East.
Then there is the media contracts. We are the worst major conference by far in terms of media contracts. That effects bowl selection invitations, so it's all related.
The Big East has a killer hoops contracts, and the PX who is a loser in football is also behind the other major conferences in hoops revenue.
We gotta make some changes. Oh, and thanks a bunch UCLA for playing in a bowl game with didn't even cover costs. The PX which revenue shares bowl games, really has a big earner in those Bruins! Aren't you guys happy with the public money you get already? (Yes, I'm aware we went to the Nut Bowl but at least it brought some money to the conference.)
