Coach Of The Year

TCU's Gary Patterson was named the Football Writers' coach of the year. Anyone think TCU can make a case for No. 1 if it wins the Fiesta Bowl?

If Texas wins ugly against Alabama and TCU blows out Boise State.

absolutely....JAG, I bet you haven't even watched a single TCU game this year. They have a fantastic team. The only team in the country to be ranked in the top 5 in both total offense AND defense. That's sick no matter what conference you're in.

And it's not like the SEC or the Big 12 were that spectacular this year. I mean let's be real, the Big 12 was a 1-team conference this year after Oklahoma's Bradford went down. The SEC was a 2-team conference with a bunch of overhyped pretenders.

Why shouldn't TCU get a share if they beat another unbeaten team in their bowl game? This is precisely why I think they put TCU and Boise in the same BCS game. Had TCU beaten Florida, it would have looked bad if Alabama and TCU were both left undefeated having both beaten a common opponent from the SEC

Well, let's just suppose that Boise State wins big - could the same case be made for its cause?

At least we don't have cincinnati to push around any more - they imploded on their own.

How about Boise St? I didn't know they could play defense too. What if Bama beats Texas in a slopfest? Bama only beat one other conference champ, and they were a lucky blocked FG away from losing to Tennessee. Boise St has beaten the conference champs of two of the best conferences - PacX and MWC. Nice win, Broncos. I was impressed.

gotta hand it to Boise St. They played a heck of a game. It's a shame there isn't a playoff system in place to crown a champion because with the defense they showed tonight, it's clear that their win vs Oregon early in the season wasn't a fluke.

Kudos to TCU for having a great season too. My guess is that Florida will still finish ahead of Boise St in the last poll and that's a travesty
