Coaching Staff Shell Game
USC now placed Jethro Franklin's name back on its coaching staff on usctrojans.com. Franklin's name was missing yesterday. This is the second time a Pete Carroll assistant had his name disappear and then reappear.
The first time (with Todd McNair), the excuse was that rosters were being updated. So it is merely a coincidence that two of Carroll's assistants names were deleted. Franklin's been looking for a job recently, either with an NFL or college team.
It's a tough time, however, because it's considered late in the year to join a new staff.

It didn't take very long at all actually. Kiffin was hired on Jan. 12 and managed to assemble the top staff in only 17 days. Seems pretty quick.
