Dear Stafon
Here's a really neat letter to Stafon Johnson from Kevin Plank, the CEO of Under Armour. Johnson is in Alabama for the Senior Bowl, sponsored by Under Armour and is scheduled to play. Plank gave the letter to Johnson in a team meeting today.
Dear Stafon,
On behalf of the entire Under Armour family, I would like to personally congratulate you on your participation in the Under Armour Senior Bowl. Your presence on the field will not only elevate the level of play, but also will serve as a powerful reminder of the tremendous courage, determination and strength you continue to display in the face of adversity.
Thank you for inspiring football fans around the world, and allowing us to share in your remarkable recovery. More importantly, thank you for showing us how a true champion is built.
At Under Armour, we challenge each other to ``protect this house, I will,'' which we loosely define as fighting with all your energy for that which is most important. to you. In the 13-plus years since I founded the company, I would be hard-pressed to find an athlete who has fought more honorably, or diligently than you. While we cannot begin to imagine the physical pain and trauma you have endured, we do understand and appreciate the magnitude of your efforts to return to the game.
I remain proud of your accomplishments and humbled by your journey, which has only just begun.
Humble and hungry,
Kevin Plank
Founder and CEO Under Armour

Fight On Stafon! We're all humbled and proud by your journey and hopeful for your future.
That's a great letter. It's nice to read something so positive and inspiring on this blog. Thanks for sharing that with us Wolfie...oh...wait a minute...I mean, thanks Jill. I should have figured as much.
I agree with Mr. Plank. Stafon demonstrated incredible courage having to endure being a 5-star RB who was never given nearly enough playing time because of an Egomanic coach who overrecruited at his position, refused to hire an experienced offensive coordinator and who cared more about getting credit than winnng.
Good luck Stafon!
PS Ill pray you dont get drafted by Seattle.
89..I've just gotta tell ya...you are like a turd in a punchbowl! Even worse, you are worse than the devil's advocate, you would truly ruin a wet dream!
Bitch On 89.
Thank you Mr. Plank. You've said what all of us feel. STA FIGHT ON!
torpedoman:
The last time I checked there's freedom of speech in this country. There's also a snide practice on this forum which leads to vulgarity, profanity and name calling directed at a member when another member(s) does/do MOT agree with his/her comment(s)-pathetic.
That's what you call maximizing your sponsorship of the game with a little free PR. I think its awesome Stafon is doing well...and definitely pulled for the kid. UA did a good job of putting their stamp on it. Wonder if Stafon will be sponsored by UA later...have to wonder if this is to help grease the skids a bit for that potential too.
Pete must have stolen '89's Christmas toys when he was a child, get over it.
Luis, I don't need your oversight boy! Take care of your self! It appears that most everyone on this blog resents your hypocritical and insolent interference. At USC, we have no hall monitors, but then again I don't expect you to know that either, so just stick it!
Fight On!
Its is a fact that RB's at USC carreer's have been negatively impacted by over reecruitment at the RB position. At least three even transferred out and were / are doing well at their new schools. Another has been relegated to the bench. That 4/5/6 back rotation totally sucked. And it looks like they are starting this shitola all over again with RB's. I would appreciate them over recruiting some OL.
torpedoman:
First I am NOT a boy and you are the hypocritical, prejudiced redneck. Secondly I have been consistent regarding my comments and points of view. Shove that shoulder chip up your rear. If you don't want an oversight don't ask for it clintonian child.
Torpedo- Don't try to make any sense with you-know-who. It won't happen. All this person can do is lash out, with HIS profanity, and threats to others. We all have to get along and this DUMB A$$ will never get it. Have some compassion....heh heh heh
NOBS:
You are torpedoman's clone. I lash-out when I am provoked. For instance nobody here knows [anything] about me. According to you I work at McDonald's. There is ONLY one forum member here that knows a little about me. Talking about profanity, what about your cheap vulgar jokes about sleeping with member's wives? You expect anybody to take your name calling BS like you're exempt from being hit back, really? You got the wrong ring fat jerk...
Regarding former USC commit OL Brice Schwab I read about it on the Sporting News Recruitnik last Friday. I could have posted the link but thanks to your bleeping pranks I said the hell with it...
Good day.
Geee la cappi, who said I was talking about YOU?
PS. My sincere apologies to the WHOLE board for not getting la cappi's link on Brice Schwab. And the link on Lincoln's assination.
El Capitan:
You are aware that the "freedom of speech" thing only applies to actions by the government right? So when a member of a message board criticizes another member's post or disparages him in any way, the critic isn't infringing anyone's right to free speech. Now, if the legislature of the state of California or the United States wrote a law prohibiting you from calling someone an "Egomanic coach", then the government would have infringed on USC'89's 1st Amendment right. I didn't see that happen here.
Second of all, I don't even recall torpedo tell anyone they were prohibited from saying something. He merely called USC'89 a "a turd in a punchbowl" for having an opinion, which torpedoman correctly pointed was stupid.
Jay#42:
I remember Emanuel Moody being the only tailback to transfer. Can you cite some others?
taxi- well said. However, it will fly over la crappy's head faster than the stealth over the rose bowl
