Leinart On Carroll
Matt Leinart talked with Phoenix station KTAR about Pete Carroll going to the Seahawks. Leinart said he ``wasn't shocked.''
Here's the full comments:
``I was shocked only because I just thought it was kind of out of nowhere. I personally thought because we have a great relationship that he would end up in the NFL at one point just because he's so competitive. I think in college he was - I wouldn't say he was getting bored, he's just a very competitive guy.
``So I wasn't shocked, I just hadn't heard his name in the NFL in a couple of years so I didn't really think much of it, but I'm excited for him. You know, Pete and I have had a great relationship all the way through college and since I've graduated. So it's going to be fun, I think he's going to bring success there. I mean it's a good organization, they've won in the past. I think it's going to be a perfect situation for him.''

hmmmm. A potential trade?
Matt will probably be the starter next year for the Cardinals since it's unlikely Warner will be back.
Losing 4 games can get boring, I agree.
Trojan conquest -
I keep hearing that since Warner has not really been injured for any serious recent period of time that he will in all likelihood be returning to the Cardinals next season.
Picture Seattle in 2011 as follows:
Pete Carroll coaching the seahawks with Leinart quarterbacking while Sark and Holt are coaching the Huskies.
Will Seattle become University Park in exile?
Just asking!
Leinart, he needs to keep friendly with Pete, cause' it's just about waiver time in Phoenix
According to most media insiders here in Arizona, Warner is retiring and has told teammates and coaches. Now, he's due around $12 million for next season, so we'll see. He has a ton of opportunities following football.
Leinart is due $4 million next season. He's next in line now, for sure, because QB Brian St. Pierre, whom Whisenhunt likes, is having back surgery. In 2011, Leinart's due a huge bonus plus salary that will push his compensation to more than $10 million. So this coming season for Matt is crucial, Warner coming back or not.
If Seattle wants Matt, they might be able to get him but the cost would be at a premium level. Don't see that happening, especially a trade within a division.
Let's hope that the Cards and Niners can give PC the competition he craves, and could not find against the baby blue teddy bears and TD for the other team Jesus.
