Jack Del Rio is definitely interested in the USC job, according to sources. He might get fired in Jacksonville. If he did come to USC, he would bring former USC player and assistant coach Kennedy Pola with him.

Yes I can see Jack standing on the sidelines in his Black Leather Jacket looking like a 70's throwback of the Raiders.

Mr. Wolf, ESPN reported earlier that former Jets and Chiefs coach Herm Edwards is interested in the USC position, any likelihood that he gets a fair shot?
Living in NJ, I can attest that his players and NY media really liked Herm Edwards and it seems that he has similar traits as PC, coached under Monte Kiffin and good defensive background. Thank you in advance.

I hope SC doesn't go with someone with SC ties just because of that. Hackett had SC ties. Carroll did'nt. ESPN just reported it's a done deal.

attention, Jedi Wolf, missed this info, you did.
some hope remains for Trojans to keep Darth Carroll, I sense.
posted this interview with Rooney Rule administrator, a Seattle paper has.
complete control, Darth Carroll will not get.
cooling quickly on the Seattle offer, he is.
too easy this was, a trick i sensed early on.
remain at USC, Darth Carroll will.
re-started, the war on Darth Carroll has.

Wow, I would love to have Jack. Wonder if Jack could persuade Chow to come? From what I could find, it looks like Jack made $3.3 mil per yr at Jacksonville. This is pretty steep for a guy with no college experience.
But, I love Jack Del Rio. Great leader.

I hope Mike Garrett will give a serious look at OJ Simpson. OJ's current situation should not disqualify him from consideration. He could coach games from prison via tele-conference. And then if he is released look out he'll bring back the passion to SC along with a great legal team. Those NCAA investigators would be too scared to take any action. OJ is the perfect fit.

Now tell me gentlemen, is this a winning coach?
I can understand bringing in one of our own, but I cannot tolerate the premise if it means down grading the program, which in this case I feel it would.

Well if he’s only going to be coach, isn’t that the reason why he hasn’t left in the past? Isn’t the lack of total control one of the main reasons why he claims he wasn’t more successful in the Pros? This is a most interesting situation!

Kennedy Pola would be a huge, huge upgrade from what we have now (Todd McNair, who it's tough to tell how effective/ineffective he is.)
The way Pola cultivated the MacKenzie-Fargas-McCullough backfield and then Bush-White-Dennis right after can't be understated. He had a tremendous impact on Bush's college success (straightened out his out of control zig-zagging.) Has the blatant toughness that critics of Carroll's alter-ego, Pete Hollywood, harped about.

I Hope everybody here realizes that Bill Plaschke has a daughter who attends the University of Notre Dame. It is not surprising that he seems to have such a personal vendetta against USC. His remarks are totally contradictory. Last week he chastises pete carroll for basically being aware that Joe Mcknight was driving the SUV, and today he has the gall to proclaim that Pete carroll is not at fault but that we should praise him and that it was the athletic department's fault. This totally negates any credibility that he has. It is clear that he only has a personal vendetta against USC, not those who work there. When he acknowleges that USC did the right thing by sitting Joe Mcknight he writes it in one line, but if there is any sort of speculation, no matter how miniscule that USC has done something not kosher he doesn't stop barking. it is irresponsible what he does because national news outlets refer to his articles without understanding his UCLA and ND leanings. USC does not need Pete Carroll, he was jobless and Mike Garrett salvaged his career and now people are bitching that they had a feud. well, myself and many other USC fans were frustrated with pete too as he diverges his attention from football and to Ricky Rosas and a Better LA and other self-promoting ventures instead of earning his salary as the highes paid college coach (at the time).
The Donkey knew Jack back when they attended school. The Donkey likes Jack. But, The Donkey doesn't want Jack as the head coach. The Donkey would welcome Jack in any other football coaching position, but not as head coach.
