The scribes contributed to that negative expectation of this year's SC basketball team, but as Nikola said, the boys knew they were better than what the "experts" were prognosticating.
And speaking of which, Nikola Vucevic is the biggest surprise of the returning starters. The kid is a force on the defensive end, and occasionally can hit that short jumper.
Johnson is another surprise, developing an outside shot.
Lewis is still Lewis, in and out as a shooter.
Washington and Stepheson have their moments, but consistency still eludes them.
And then there is Gerrity, the little (6'2" little) general who is the glue that keeps the team together.
What a delight this group has been up to this point.
And perhaps we will have more than 100 or less Trojans at Pauley Pavilion, and I will have a few of my brethern watching my back for a change.
