I agree. I was not impressed with '09's linebacker play. Seems the ballcarrier got into the our defensive backfield too many times...where were the 'backers? When your safeties are having to make tackles of the runningbacks, that's bad news about the linebacking. I am concerned Kiffen needs to flood the class with linemen. Their depth usually wears thin with injuries. Then you start moving players around and that is also bad news!
@spedjones USC is still targeting Josh Shirley, Hayes Pullard, and
Christian Jones, if they can land 2 of the 3 they'll be fine. Personally I'm more concerned with the OL, USC needs some interior lineman soon. Having 4 5-star receivers isn't going to matter much if Barkley has no time in the pocket to get them the ball.

Well, Shirley reportedly struggled big-time trying to play LB this year in high school, so much so that UCLA stopped recruiting him, and they were his favorite team growing up. Pullard seems signed, sealed and delivered to the crosstown rivals. That leaves very little to get excited about. Jones would be a god-send.
