We heard today that Notre Dame is trying to work on wide receiver Kyle Prater, who was scheduled to enroll Monday at USC. The Irish were making calls today and yesterday to figure to convince Prater to switch schools.

Hope everybody here realizes that Bill Plaschke has a daughter who attends the University of Notre Dame. It is not surprising that he seems to have such a personal vendetta against USC. His remarks are totally contradictory. Last week he chastises pete carroll for basically being aware that Joe Mcknight was driving the SUV, and today he has the gall to proclaim that Pete carroll is not at fault but that we should praise him and that it was the athletic department's fault. This totally negates any credibility that he has. It is clear that he only has a personal vendetta against USC, not those who work there. When he acknowleges that USC did the right thing by sitting Joe Mcknight he writes it in one line, but if there is any sort of speculation, no matter how miniscule that USC has done something not kosher he doesn't stop barking. it is irresponsible what he does because national news outlets refer to his articles without understanding his UCLA and ND leanings. USC does not need Pete Carroll, he was jobless and Mike Garrett salvaged his career and now people are bitching that they had a feud. well, myself and many other USC fans were frustrated with pete too as he diverges his attention from football and to Ricky Rosas and a Better LA and other self-promoting ventures instead of earning his salary as the highes paid college coach (at the time).

This is why SC needs to pull the trigger fast on the selection. Pete should have quit a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if his ego wants SC to fail without him?

Plasche has ties to ND and Simers ogles at UCLA. It pains them to see USC succe,ed. They love to stir up GROUNDLESS controversy about USC the Athletic Department, and Mike Garrett for the aforementioned reasons. Take solace in the fact that they write for a dying medium and hopefully the Cancers will have to look for other employment soon. Look how Plasche is lactching on to ESPN by apearing to around the horn to land a gig with the network.

No, the sky is NOT falling - from ESPN.com:
But while Prater and Schwab are backing off the Trojans, their top-ranked recruit -- four-star WR Robert Woods (Gardena, Calif./Junipero Serra) -- says he is sticking with USC despite the news of Carroll's departure.
"It's pretty shocking, pretty much out of nowhere. Whatever Pete [Carroll] does is a great decision for him. It doesn't change much for me," said Woods, who is No. 23 in the ESPNU 150. "USC is the school I chose and I think I'm going to stick with it. "
Four-star athlete Anthony Brown (Fontana, Calif./Henry J. Kaiser) is another player who was caught off guard by the news, but isn't switching from USC.
"I'm still going to be a Trojan," he said. "It shocked me. I don't really know what to say."
But perhaps the biggest thing to watch is how the undecided commits who had USC among their finalists react, like the nation's top-ranked recruit, Jackson Jeffcoat (Plano, Texas/West), who is considering USC, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Arizona State and Houston.
"Well, It's tough because he had told all of us that are looking at USC that he was going to stay, so some of us are upset about it," said Jeffcoat, a five-star DE. "You can't do anything about it. I'm still going to look at them, but I just want to see who the coach is going to be."
Another prospect to watch is five-star OT Seantrel Henderson (Minneapolis/Cretin-Derham), who is No. 4 in the ESPNU 150. He's considering USC, Ohio State, Florida, Notre Dame, Miami and Minnesota. USC is also in the mix for four-star S Sean Parker (Harbor City, Calif./Narbonne), who's No. 26 in the ESPNU 150; four-star OLB Christian Jones (Oviedo, Fla./Lake Howell), who's No. 27 in the ESPNU 150; and four-star RB Lache Seastrunk (Temple, Texas/Texas), the No. 29 prospect in the ESPNU 150.

give woods a few days to digest. he'll jump ship just like the rest of 'em. NCAA sanctions coming soon. No bowls for 2 years. Loss of scholarships. No reason for woods to be there. Baxter to Michigan. Prater to ND. Uko to UCLA. Weeeeeeeee!
