Talking Points

Here's Rutgers' talking points to be included in the top 25 poll. How do they match up with USC?

Rutgers finished the season 9-4 after a 45-24 victory December 19 vs. UCF in the St. Petersburg Bowl

Three of Rutgers' four losses were to teams that combined to win 31 games (Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, West Virginia)

Defensively, Rutgers is ranked in the top 10 nationally in seven different categories
Rutgers is first nationally in fumbles recovered and tackles for loss and ranks second in turnover margin

The Rutgers defense is also third in the nation in sacks, fourth in turnovers gained, eighth in first downs allowed, 10th in third down efficiency defense and 10th in fourth down efficiency defense

Rutgers led the BIG EAST in total defense, scoring defense, turnover margin and sacks
With a true freshman starting at quarterback, Rutgers won nine games in a season for just the sixth time in school history, including a 31-0 victory over then 23rd-ranked USF

interesting article but worthless (not meaning to be rude). leading the big east means nothing, beating usf means almost nothing, and making a random comparison is worthless and pointless. if they played, maybe rutgers would win, maybe not. on paper, it would seem ohio st. would beat usc but they didn't, even at home in usc worst season in eight years. might be best to focus on recruiting.
