Does USC want to eventually remove Pete Carroll's assistant coaches as a sign to the NCAA that it is cleaning house from the Reggie Bush era?

Wasn't Kiffin an assistant during the Reggie Bush era?

Um, if that were the case wouldn't they start with his offensive coordinator from that time? What was his name again?

Well then we also need to fire all LA area USC FB beat newspaper/blog reporters for their part.

They also should have known where all of the USC players parents are living with complete details of all home rental agreements too.

Seems only fair ya'll quit your jobs too.

And what better way to prove that than to hire a former assistant (during the Reggie Bush years) as head coach?

Scooter = Sherlock Holmes fail

That's ludicrous, if that were the case, Lane Kiffin would fire Ed Orgeron & then resign. Both Kiffin & Oreeron were at USC during the Bush years!

Seriously, where do you come up with these questions? I could speculate, but I'd probably be banned from this blog.

So Carroll leaves voluntarily to pursue a better opportuity, and there is a natural turnover of assistance coaches. And Garrett's plan is to spin this to the NCAA as USC "cleaning house" mostly...except for the guys who he just rehired? Yea...I'm sure the NCAA will be impressed by that display of institutional control. When Garrett talked about "making a strong case", I hope this wasn't it. But thanks for your efforts, Scott. Make sure to push your brianstorms on Guerrero when NeuWeasel's day of reckoning comes.

Are you implying the assistant coaches were the masterminds behind the Reggie Bush “scandal?"....DUT! DUT! DUN!!!
Seriously firing the assistant coaches as a means of appeasing the NCAA makes no sense. Especially when you hire an assistant from that time to be head coach!
