More Mays
Here's what former USC safety Taylor Mays told radio host Darren Smith about what he hears from draft analysts vs. NFL teams.
``I just know that what I hear from a consensus especially recently from analysts is different than what I am hearing from NFL head coaches and GM's and DB coaches.
There is a difference. I only worry about what my instructors and coaches tell me.There are these ideas and thoughts out there that I can't move well for my size or that I can't backpedal.
``It's just completely different than what I hear when I meet with coaches. They tell me that they like how I move and that I move well. Those are the people I'm going to listen to you.''

This might not be the correct entry to post this on, but where is the news on the hiring of Clay Helton?
He never seemed the same after his injury and missing the Washington game. He was late on many plays and went for the big hit trying to dislodge the ball instead of keeping the receiver from catching it in the first place.
The two things I hope are different than with Carroll:
On defense.......stop playing the DBs so far back off the receivers.
On offense.........stop the constant use of the bubble screens.
Taylor will know what the coaches are really telling him by where/whether he is taken in the draft. That is what they will actually be telling him.
while some big players can be fast, it is a fact that big players are not as quick as smaller players
no one will know how well Mays will do in the pros until about 3-4 years from now - if he has a good work ethic after he starts making all that money, he will improve on his weaknesses
I think he will do OK, but he wont be the next Ronnie Lot
He might be better to move to OLB. He'd be the fastest LB ever. Just add 10 lbs.
TC on your first post, agree with both.
