Shoe Wars

The Oregonian obtained Oregon's shoe deal with Nike and published a list of top deals. As a private school, USC does not need to release its contract details. But traditionally, USC's deal was not as good as the top schools like Michigan and North Carolina.
More interesting, USC usually received less gear from Nike than schools like Michigan because it traditionally wanted cash instead of gear for athletes.

Current outfitting/endorsement deals
University of Michigan $66.5 million 8 years Adidas
University of North Carolina $33.7 million 10 years Nike
University of Kansas $26.7 million 8 years Adidas
University of Nebraska $22.7 million 8 years Adidas
University of Oregon $22.7 million 8 years Nike
Indiana University $21 million 8 years Adidas

sounds about right for SC - more cash than gear for the athletes (but don't leave out the range rovers - that's the kind of gear they like). Like administration like players.
