It was unfortunate that Joe McKnight was continuously compared to Reggie Bush; instead lets compare Dillon Baxter to Joe McKnight. What are your thoughts based on what you have seen so far from Baxter? Thank You
A: Baxter is more explosive than McKnight, who really was not an explosive runner (no knock on him, except for the way he was ranked No.1 in the nation coming out of high school). Baxter can fake out defenders and get through a hole quickly. McKnight seemed to need more space to get going. And so far, Baxter has not fumbled much. He still has a long way to go, but he looked impressive in spring for a guy who should have been in high school. He's got great side-to-side moves, which I haven't seen from a USC back since Bush.

Regarding Reggie Bush's parents coming to all of the road games, traveling 1st class and staying in expensive hotels --did you notice it when you covered the team back then?
A: I saw them on road trips but only at the games or in the hotel lobby. So there was no way to tell the things you asked. Since they lived in San Diego, they would be on different flights than those of us traveling from the Los Angeles area.

I keep reading articles online that say USC would have to forfeit victories from 2003-2005. Why is 2003 being mentioned if the reports say that Reggie Bush didn't start receiving gifts and cash in November 2004. So why would 2003 wins have to be vacated?
A: My understanding is victories would be forfeited from the time he accepted cash and/or gifts. So I'm not sure why reports mention 2003.
