Quick Thought
Wonder if Seantrel Henderson would be influenced by a one-year bowl ban instead of two?

Screw him. He and his dad are future transgressions waiting to happen.
Fair is fair. He and his father were particularly concerned about possible sanctions and the coaches assured them not to listen to anyone, the penalties will be minor.
Now in hind sight, Lane and co. were right to say that as from their prospective knowing the events and the facts, no serious sanctions should have been levied. There is no way to predict the NCAA making as many mistakes, particularly with McNair and believing an ex-con with an economic incentive to lie and involve USC. Also, the sanctions were far more severe even with the false information used than any precedent. So it was natural for them to paint the picture as not too bleak.
From the Henderson's prospective, they feel lied to and rightly so. It is a very difficult situation and may lead to Seantrel playing elsewhere, which would be a loss for USC and I believe prove to be the wrong decision for the Henderson's as well.
I hope Seantrel looks at the facts that he will get maximum exposure from USC as well as a great education. USC is heavily televised and has a team that can win a championship while he is here. His final year or two will be with no limitations and judging by the consistent recruiting, we will still have a great team.
Trojan Conquest
I only wish that I could be as eloquent. You Dah Man!
Sy,
Spin, Spin, this dude has had ample time to pick a horse. The Kiffer & Co should diss dah dude. Their coddling is an afront to all the other recruits who have not waivered. Send a strong message "We Are SC" you are not. We wish you well.
Exactly
@Sy,
Seatntrell Henderson was lied to, period.
As for USC continuing to have great teams? what are you smoking? they didn't have great team last year, and their talent level is down, USC has done a great job recruiting Receivers and Running Backs and average QBs, but who the hell's going to block for them?
The OLine as not depth whatsoever, which is why Henderson is an important player to keep, if he goes there goes 20% of an already depleted OLine. Defense? what defense? your best DLineman is out for the year (#44) two LBs are gone from a position in which USC was already hurting last year, and you recruited only one LB Hayes Pullard who chose USC only after Zumwalt chose UCLA instead of USC.
Your best defensive player is gone. USC was 9-4 last year (they could have been 7-6), and let's not forget that 30 scholarships less in the next three years is as close to a death penalty as you can get...it means 30 potential 4 and 5-star players will be playing elsewhere in the PAC-10 - maybe UCLA?
Dear UCLA ROB,
It's funny how UCLA always gets ranked higher than USC academically. Clearly the liberal people that vote do not want a conservative school like USC to be ranked highly. Given the lack of spelling and grammar always displayed by UCLA graduates, such as yourself, it is clear that your ranking is significantly over rated.
As for your poor analysis; you really should stick with something you might know such as your own pathetic football team. Let's see... how many times did you beat us over the last decade??? USC QBs are among the highest rated in the country with Barkley being on Heisman watch. Our DL is one of the best in the country and our running backs and receivers are arguably the best in the country. USC has the talent to challenge anyone, unlike your pathetic team who will be nowhere near Pack 10 contention - again!!!
Crawl back to your mommy's basement and, although it is boring, read your own teams websites and buzz off ours!
@ Sy:
Since you want to play grammar/spelling police:
-Clearly the people WHO vote... (not THAT)
-Over rated should be one word
-Pack 10...what's that?
-teams should be team's (if you're referring to UCLA, the University, as a whole) or teams' (if you're referring to the various team sites separately).
You're Nick Young, and I'm Jordan Farmar. Just another Bruin tutoring a trOJan...look it up, Strunk and White.
(1) USC'a academic standing has substantially improved in recent years and in may ways surpassed UCLA.
(2) Take a look at the headlines today - 3, count them THREE of the B-Ruins' incoming frosh have been arrested for felony theft.
Hey Rob, et al., maybe you'd better start posting on your own blog for a change. Things are heating up over there.
Maze,
Clearly you're another UCLA graduate. I stand corrected on my typo with Pack instead of Pac or PAC; however, your grammar is also sadly lacking. People "who" vote is ALSO correct, and yes "overrated" is correct; however, so is over-rated and over rated. Contractions are not required in English, they are optional. Enough wasting time on educating UCLA graduates who have nothing better to do!
"Just another Bruin tutoring a trOJan?" Great job in spelling Trojan, by the way... The OJ reference is weak and got old long ago. I noticed you could only come up with basketball references, interesting as we are talking football on this thread. I think it is more like just another Bruin who thinks he's smart because he went to college. Get a life and buzz off our site...
As far as Strunk and White, grammar style and correct English are different concepts. One is best case as they see it and the other is enforced grammar. UCLA BOB's "The OLine as not depth whatsoever" and "they didn't have great team last year" does not qualify for either level.
Thanks...I chose the correct way, not the alternate Markeith Ambles spelling. (i.e. Trogans)
Who vs. that IS a grammar issue, not a spelling issue. So you're wrong (wait, contractions are optional...whoops! ha) Therefore, the Strunk and White reference.
And since contractions are "optional" all of a sudden (WTF?) "youre" wrong on both accounts. Overrated is not a contraction, it's a compound word. Team vs. team's is not a contraction issue either; it denotes possession. Again, "youre" wrong.
Do you need a tutor to get the minimum score on the SAT too? I think Jordan's (contraction = Jordan is) available. Im (contractions optional, remember?) also available.
Okay, youre right--"lets" (NOT let us, or let's) talk about the sanctions so more.
Let's see, "youre". It is you're as in you are. Uh, let's see "talk about the sanctions so more", did you mean to say "some more" perhaps. "Team vs. team's" is not what your UCLA buddy said, it was "have great team". If you could read you might just realize his mistake. Go back to school, you still have a lot to learn. I'm done bothering with your pathetic ranting. I'm too tired to edify you further. Leave the USC sites alone and get a life! You can reply, but I'm not going to read it, so have fun wasting your time! Oh, and YOU'RE an idiot!
Last note; a true compound word changes meaning when two words are combined to create one (i.e. firefighter or jackass as in your case). When the two words do not change the meaning such as over rated vs. overrated then the compounding is optional. Go back to school!!!
