What Happens Thursday?
Here's what it sounds like will happen tomorrow. The NCAA will announce its findings regarding USC and possible sanctions (expect forfeits and scholarship reductions at least) and then USC will hastily assemble a press conference to announce its response.

I hope USC will make the NCAA forfeit money it earned on TV deals involving USC football games. USC should also demand the NCAA reduce the number of attorneys on staff. They could be freed up to sue BP, right?
This will also happen: sc fans will react with taking one of two attitudes, 1. "Doesn't matter. The end (winning in football) justifies the means (cheating)," (pathetic), or, 2. "The NCAA has it in for us" (equally pathetic).
What WILL NOT HAPPEN: Sc holding itself accountable for its fball/bball programs' actions or being ashamed in any way, shape or form (Most pathetic)
Lawyer-up on the government! We depend on them, yes?
Dear Peatstinks:
No, the most pathetic is sanctimonious over reaching generalizations about a large group of people. I guess self-flagelation is the only acceptable reaction in your view?
Perhaps many USC fans, myself included, will look at the NCAA investigation as a regretable stain on what otherwise would have been a glorious era. We look forward to closing this chapter and moving on in a positive direction. Or would you prefer to demonize and over simplify our cognitive capabilities?
The most unfortunate result here, as with all other NCAA investigations, is that the wrongdoers are nowhere to be found and the innocent (well, hopefully innocent) are punished for the sins of their fathers.
peatstinks:
Thanks for the insight, buddy. You're great.
I, for one, will accept the punishments without adopting either attitude you've mentioned. I will be (am already) upset that Reggie and his family stepped OTL. I will NOT be ashamed (as you predicted). Shame really isn't a factor here, except for Bush and his folks. I suspect I speak for most SC fans when I say I will take whatever they give us and hope the program doesn't put itself back in this position.
We will move on, knowing that our current players will FIGHT ON and bring us back to glory very, very soon.
I will continue to wonder why UCLA has such a bad football team.
I am rebooting the thread below (from the John Robinson thread of yesterday) in hopes of creating a movement. All aboard.
"Since SW is fond of nicknames, I move that his be: "The Lazy Fat Turd." Anyone second the motion? I know, it is unseemingly to push your own name, but free_thinker should get the credit."
sorry, forfeits, Heisman, T.V., Bowl games, Reduction of Scholarships, and probation for 2-3 years, all of the above are coming tomorrow...and yes, I will be one of the Bruin fans to say "we won those games in 2004 and 2005" hell, I'll even take the one in 2003 if possible - I got no problems in claiming those wins. If they are put on probation, I don't think it will hurt u.s.c. but if it's two or three years, it will surely hurt the u.s.c. program. I can't wait! :p
It's the UGLY uniforms. They look like the adjunct substitutes for a Nevada whorehouse.
i guess all this cheating and unethical conduct finally caught up to us.. the only thing our university is known for is football.. why else would anybody come to this school located in the dump better known as south central? maybe it's for the popeye's chicken on figueroa and adams.. at least westwood village doesn't have a popeye's.. mmm mmm love that cheatin.. err i mean, chicken
of course we all know the announcement is Monday. this was announced six hours ago. thanks for the update Scott.
Hypocrite - a bruin who argues that USC should have known what Bush's family was doing one moment while claiming that Coach Wooden knew nothing about what Sam Gilbert was doing right under his nose.

It's bad taste, but do the trolls deserve better? Yep, your poop stinks too.
All you need to know is that Gilbert was a self-made man as a "contractor." Nothing gets built without a little bit of grease.
@Jon
Funny how the trogans fans dismiss how the Bruins OWNED the trogans in the 90's as "that was then" and then turn around and bring up some stuff that coach Wooden may or may not have known about that happened 35-45 years ago.
By the way Papa Sam was said to be a supporter of the trogan football program back then also, although nothing has ever been proven. I guess trogan football players are better at keeping a secret than Bruin basketball players.
2 years bowl ban won't be so bad except for the Junior and Senior players (it sucks for the players who had nothing to do with any of it). Sad that the main players in the violations are long gone with no repercussions.
FINALLY PAPA GET'S HIS SPOTLIGHT!
All that money I put into cars and marijuana for Kareem and Walton.
Do you know how hard it was for me to "convince" all those co-eds to get abortions?!
Someone play my theme song
"Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith"
F$ck Reggie Bush
