Do yourself a favor and skip the ESPYs.

Q: SECTION 12 ROW 52 said:
How is Jake Locker receiving $ 300,000 from the Angels despite not performing any service for them an appropriate payment of his market value, while the benefits Reggie Bush received are not?

A: I believe NCAA rules allow you to play baseball (and receive compensation) and retain your eligibility for another sport.

Q: Rich K said:
Is there any carryover as far as scholarships from departing players. In other words, can SC use one of the departing player's scholarship two years down the line or are they restricted to using it the following year?

A: Lane Kiffin can use the scholarships whenever he wants to use them. So he can use it next year or save it (provided he does not go over the NCAA-sanction limits).

ESPY's was a bore, gave it up before it was over. Good jokes though. Can't get behind these awards given out based solely on twitter/facebook/internet "fans" voting for outstanding sports performance - clearly skewed. Many athletes who deserved to win did not, in favor of "popularity contest" athletes with young followers who tweet and facebook frequently. This awards show needs a revamp to reward true athletes, with votes cast by their contemporaries, maybe one or two categories reserved for fans. Case in point: Best Male Olympian, should have been Lysacek,or maybe Ohno, who overcame far greater competition in more difficult and intricate sports. Instead it went to White, who already won another category, and who has millions of young kids as fans, who don't appreciate the difficulties in other sports. Can't compare figure or speed skating to snowboarding, sorry, just can't.
