Linebacker Kent Turene of Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) committed to USC, according to uscfootball.com. Can he play this year?
Turene is the 11th player to commit for the Class of 2011 as probation does not seem to be hindering recruiting so far.

I read that he is going to enroll in January, and thus counts for the 2010 scholarship limit and not 2011. This would be great news, leaving another valuable opening for the 2011 class.
He is apparently on schedule to graduate and enroll in January 2011 so he would count against 2010 scholarship limits.
Anyone who can enroll in January 2011 has to be a priority for USC. An LB or OL is a big bonus.
