Hail Caesar!

A Win Forever book tour stop in Seattle on Friday drew zero questions about USC's NCAA sanctions from the crowd. No wonder Pete Carroll is smiling.
I wish I had asked him last week if he would donate any of his $7 million to USC's athletic dept. for the revenue lost for not going to a bowl game this season.

See that proves that only you and Petros (and every other interviewer he has talked to in the past 3 weeks) care about all that USC stuff.

Just catchin up on the SC "news" for the weekend from Scott's perspective. Let me see, a negative piece about Bienemy (or however you spell his name), a negative piece on Bush, two negative pieces on Carroll, his favorite whipping boy, and a real negative comment about how Kiffin finds it so easy to make enemies.

Now those are some real inside scoops that I can truly treasure.

News flash Wolf... Reggie Bush and his family were the cause of the sanctions against USC, including, but not limited to, the bowl ban for two years. Pete Carroll was ruled not involved or knowledgeable in any way with regards to the Reggie Bush incident. What do you not understand?

Everyone who reads this blog knows fully well that Scott Wolf produces no scoops, he does however churn out the negative. If you want a scoop, go read today's times and get an inside look at Heritage Hall. Wolf is an embittered reporter at a dying paper and gets the table scraps the big dogs leave behind.

Wolf's efforts to belittle Pete Carroll and the Trojan program are less about covering news than they are about some warped agenda Wolf has because he was apparently snubbed or feels injured by PC. But Wolf's stupidity combined with negativity that really his own undoing.

After reading his lame story on how supposedly miffed Jeff Fisher is at Lane Kiffin, I can see why Wolf has no friends at USC. While the real paper downtown gets one-on-one access to the new AD, Wolf responds by serving as Fisher's tool to throw flaming arrows at the new Haden regime.

Instead of asking critical questions that an intelligent journalist might ask --"Why is Fisher airing laundry in the press? How professional is Fisher's approach? Is Fisher trying to get Lane Kiffin fired so he can sweep into HH?"-- Wolf becomes an inept Iago and plays his stupid power card taking SC to task in the press.

Nice move Wolf. While the Times gives Haden a glowing review on page one sports --establishing the tenor of their relationship-- you throw a flaming arrow. If Fisher gets the SC job, you may actually get a scoop one day. For now, you have made your name mud at Heritage Hall once again. Don't think for a minute that they will forget the hack at the Daily News who makes himself a pain-in-the-bucket.

Talk about a talent for offending.

"OBSESSION" - the new Cologne [odor?] by Scott Wolf.

Scott repeatedly attacks Carroll, even though he previously indicated that Pete Carroll had surpassed John McKay as best USC coach (in response to my long ago open forum question). I guess the sanctions have changed his opinion.

Scott suggests that Carroll pay money to the University to replace the lost bowl game revenue. Even if he is joking, that is absurd. Carroll helped raise/earn millions already for the school. He rebuilt USC into a football powerhouse, and won two national championships (AP titles anyway). USC competed at the highest level, and dominated the PAC-10 and college football. Carroll certainly has his faults, but he owes USC no debt.

Well said USCMike. I loved Pete, but I think people know he has plenty of faults. Wolf is just obsessed to the point of being near libelous. Wolf is biased and bad for USC. He accomplishes nothing with his negativity.

The press should act as a watchdog over public affairs. Instead, we get a Wolf cry at every opportunity. Sad.

Free, why do you think that nobody in the athletic dept will talk to SW? On the road, they all, including the other writers, stay away from him.

Sugar sweeeeet howl, ChuckBuck!

Just what this blog needs! A reminder that Wolf's owns Cheatey! Cheatey runs from Wolf like Superman runs from Kryptonite!

Wolf's scooopin' is unsurpassed, that is certain!

How queeer it is that all these crybabies camp on here, crying and moaning about Wolfman, yet they hang on his every word!!!

AUUUUU-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

NOBS - Fully agree. This is easy to see in print media circles --of which idiot bucket knows nothing.

The L.A. Times beat writers get first shot exclusive with Haden, including first-person quotes from former mayor, J.K. McKay, Mrs. Haden, etc, etc, etc.

Secondhand Wolf earns his nickname. He gets no exclusivity, running with press conference quotes that are fed to dozens of others in attendance. It is truly pathetic to see Wolf pick up a story that ran in Tennessean, another paper that's barely surviving.

Scott has this Caesar thing nailed. Pete Carroll's legacy at USC is complicated. Even if you take his account of the Reggie thing at face value, that he didn't know and had no way of knowing, the timing of his departure, whether coincidence or deliberate, leaves questions that will never get answers.

However, Scott, I don't think you can pin lost $$ for a bowl game on him. Did Hackett or J-Rob-2 get us to a bowl game every year they were coach?

I doubt anyone will disagree that there is some odd linkage between you and Wolf.

It is hard to comprehend why any intelligent or reasonable person would you go to such great lengths to ardently adulate and vocally defend an individual in whom they have no vested interest. (This brings into question your smarts and sensibility.)

Besides, its not like you've latched on to Kate Winslet or Angelina Jolie here Bucket buddy, you've got a love-fest going with a balding, fact-challenged, puerile blogger.

Isn't that queer?

Scott Wolf really does have the inside scoop on everyone at USC or anyone that is connected to the school, now I know why Charlie Bucket idolizes Mr. Wolff.

Lawyer John, all those negative articles that you're complaining about do have merit, how can you ignore as a reporter all that is going on at USC A.K.A. college football's "laugh factory"? Gawd, I love all this BS that continues to go on and on and on and on at SCum city.

Keep the laughs coming!
