Henderson Out
Lane Kiffin released Seantrel Henderson from his letter of intent this afternoon.
"As of 1:30 p.m. today, we are releasing Seantrel Henderson out of his national letter of intent with zero penalties and no restrictions. Seantrel has been great through the whole process and we wish him the best of luck with his decision."

To show that I do have some compassion, here's a reminder of how overrated Henderson really is: http://rivals.yahoo.com/video/recruiting-football/Army-practice-OL-vs-DL-West-58953;_ylt=AoNRaT16tWm1gduQpy.CK_kh7qB4
Can anyone say OWA?
Good riddance! He would have been trouble anyways!
Good decision. I want guys who really want to be Trojans!
Thank God! Henderson was nothing short of a bona fide prima donna. He relished the whole babying process in recruitment and I think he just wanted to go through that all over again. Wherever he goes, he's going to need to work hard and lose some weight. Most importantly, he's going to need to learn how to be a man. A man doesn't make a prospective coach (Randy Shannon) wait two hours while he's having his hair done.
It's funny how all you SUC pukes got woodies when Seantrel signed . . . but now it is 'good riddance.' LMAO
He would have been high maintenance? That's all you pukes have. Prima donnas that get greased by agents and/or runners for agents. He would have fit in just fine.
Overrated? He is one of the top OL in this class. Get real. He was a BIG get and now is a BIG loss.
Ultimate Bruin is mostly right. This is a big loss for us. The only reason it's tolerable is that it's been clear since the sanctions were announced that he really doesn't want to come to SC. I don't care how good he is, we can't have guys that don't want to be here taking up roster space. They are a hinderance to team morale.
So, all things considered, I don't mind too much that he's gone. But, obviously, I would have loved to have him. I'm sure MB agrees.
It's Lane Kiffin's goddamned fault for not being straight with this kid from point A. I, for one, was looking forward to the prospect of having Henderson on our team in a position where we needed him.
And now folks are saying that he's trouble? What trouble? Now that he's gone, we have to make an extra effort with limited scholarships to stack the line with big, talented men that will give our offense the edge we always have. Man up Lane.
You don't get it: Seantrel's NUMBER 1 concern from DAY 1 was the academic standards at USC! He spent the vast majority of his time contacting already enrolled players asking them about the classes and how dilligent the football staff was at ensuring the players attend classes. Let's wait and see if Seantrel makes it, even at the "u" (LOL!). Coach Baxter was brought in from Fresno State because in addition to being the best special teams coach IN AMERICA he has set a national standard for academic performance in college football with a program he has developed and which is being used at many universities today.
I told you 2 weeks ago he was OUT! Just like I told you that SPEDJONES is a "reacharound". I am batting 1,000.
...one last thing. now that Henderson has decided to part proverbial ways with USC, I think it's important that we as Trojan fans maintain the integrity that has always been synonymus with our program. What I mean is that we need keep taking an honest look at our current team. NO ONE can deny that we have the top recruiting lcass in the nation and that we have the top team going into this upcoming football season. Although it does hurt that Henderson is taking off for what he considers greener pastures, we have the best team. We have the best team and it's time for Kiffin to step it up and to man up and hold it together so that we can play championship level ball. Fight On!!
So sorry to hear he's not going to be a Trojan...where's he going?
Wow. Any good news out there?
::: crickets :::
I would take my chances with a high-maintenace 5-star athlete than with a high-character 3-star kid.
Football does not build character, it takes characters (as in wild and crazy) to play it well.
I will miss what Henderson may have brought to the SC table, and without him SC's possible No. 1 recruiting rating goes with him.
Well, SUCConqueer, some rating services had SUC at the 7 or 8 class, so I guess SOME ONE does disagree with your self-serving "honest" assessment. But, kudos for at least acknowledging that the loss of Seantrel is real. And as for the "academic" issue, are you SUC pukes really going to proffer academic issues as the reason Seantrell asked out of his LOI? C'mon. Academics has never been an issue at SUC. Grades are handed out to the FB players along with their car keys, apratment keys, and song girl phone numbers.

Supposedly Fucla was trying to get him. Think he'll go there? I don't either. LMAO
I cannot BELIEVE that Seantrel didn't want to stay just for the fine academics!!!
UB: I never said that acrademics was the reason Seantrell was leaving USC. At USC, we have the best academics and if Seanntrel wanted to succeed here, he would have goten the best attention and he would have done well and graduated.
So we weren't the top recruiting class. OK, Whatever. We will still run it up on fucla anytime, anywhere, any place.. You act like Trojans buy our players when that couldnt' be further from the truth.
Check it out -- the comparison of UB's nearly identical posts gives us a rare behind-the-scenes look at a troll crafting his cliched insults.
Note how he first ended his post with "song girl phone numbers," but then changed that part to "sports agent phone directories." No doubt UB weighed the "song girl" bit and realized that song girls were not implicated in the recent NCAA report, but wanna-be sports agents were, and he revised his work accordingly.
Observe, Bruin/UCLA/Westwood Rob! This is how a troll keeps his insults topical!
trout's almost getting funny now. If his number 1 concern from day 1 was academics, then why not go to Miami in the first place? What changed between his LOI and now - it wasn't SC's course-work getting harder, it was...now say it with me... SANCTIONS! The same ones Lane told Baxter would never happen. He sold the same bill of goods to Henderson hence the desertion. And, I gotta laugh at someone from Fresno State being brought in to toughen up the academic side of things at SC. Only at Fig Tech.
Too bad about Seantreal. Possibly a blessing in disguise. OWA potentially dominated him. I saw some of that video, and it was scary. Now I turn my thoughts to men's basketball and my heart warms at the though of the baby powder blue bruins being so horribly bad.
I would be much more concerned if we lost baxter, prater or woods. but the rest of the class appears solid. i see the future and it is bright. quick question: what's the story on xavier grimble? is he a stud TE or can we convert him to an OL and convince him he has a much better chance of making millions there? how are his hands?
Can't wait for la la crappy's link from ESPN
Cafe 84: What's your point? Who cares whether he chagned it from song girls to sports agents. UB is a fool anyway.
Oh...and USC still owns fucla.
Hey UB, we were all hyped up to see Henderson coming to the Trojans. But after seeing him for the attention whore that he and his family are, we (some of us)are glad to see him go. I notice he had no interest in the bRuins. I guess he is not into purse snatching like other recruits you have.
Hey ultimate bruin, you sure like to use the word SUC alot. Does that mean you like to swallow as well?
aaaaaaauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu woooooooooooooooo!
In my opinion a good decision by Kiffin. Although he is a loss physically, I think it is the best for everyone that he moves on. Even if the sanctions did not occur, he was the weakest commit of the class by far and academically there are many questions. Certainly as a team leader and a morale booster he is not the right fit for USC. He is very impressive on the field, but it was clear he would have taken much, if not all, of that benefit away from the team off the field. So ends the Henderson drama...
My two cents worth...
One last comment; when the going gets tough, the tough don't run away. We have been unfairly treated as all Trojans know. Those with a true Trojan heart and soul will fight for our redemption on the field. Those of us who cannot support our team on the field (the vast majority obviously) should support our team as loyal fans.
USC did not cheat in any way. One player did and made very bad decisions in assisting his step-father. The sanctions were primarily based on bad information as was the loss of our 2004 national BCS title. Reggie did not receive his car in '04, but instead in spring of '05. The car was not a red flag as it was very inexpensive and fitted his economic condition. Otherwise he flashed no money eating at commons with the other players, etc. As for McNair, the NCAA goofed there as well stating he spoke with Lake for 2.5 minutes during the night in '05. The call came in '06 and who really knows what, if anything, was said as the NCAA took the word of a convicted felon over Todd.
Further, a key member of the NCAA team is from Notre Dame who we have constantly beaten over the past decade. They have a new coach and desperately need to beat SC to be considered successful. The conflicts of interest are extreme and should not have been allowed by the NCAA.
We have been unfairly treated to say the least and our players have the USC honor at stake. I hope they all see this as an opportunity to become a truly special team that will be talked about for decades!
the only reason the bruins beat SC in '06 (or whatever year that was) is because JDB was our QB. Carroll should have pulled an MB7 back then, started sanchez, gone 9-4, and won the NC the following year. unfortunately, it will be harder now for MB7 with the sanctions. we need ohio state to lose. then we have a chance to win AP NC.
yes trolls, i dare to dream. just like your only dream is to beat us. an NC is so far out of your reach it's sad. like washingtion state. we should call you our little bruin cougars.
dream on....
for all those who think lane "made" a good decision, be sure this decision was made for him. Had he not released Seanteal, he'd have spent the next year reading headlines about all the lies he told Seantrel earlier in the year to get him there. Trust me, this was a no-brainer even for a dope like Lane.
He was loved when he was sc's,but became stupid when released after the whole coaching staff couldn't convince him to stay on board a sinking ship.
sped,
So good to see you've returned. Wolf answered your question about Baxter's phone over the weekend but you must have missed it. I thought I'd give you a chance to respond.

But if you want me to paraphrase it for you, you're an idiot.
USCconquer, what the hell do exactly mean by your comment "we will have the top team"? you are one delusional troGie, put down that pipe and stop drinking that kool aide given out the Regional food bank down at South Central...."best team"...what a tool!
Will we ever see anything positive in print when referring to SUC football? I LOVE IT!! every day it's either "USC Sanctions" or "USC player transfers" "another USC players transfers" or "YET ANOTHER USC player transfers" or "USC parts ways with coach" or "13 year old recruit's school is being investigated" or "former USC player gets arrested for drug possession" or "former USC RB is cut by his former coach" or "former USC LB arrested for DUI" or "#1 recruit changing his mind" or "Henderson released from his commitment" geeeeez!!! LIFE MUST REALLY SUCK BEING A TROJAN OR EVEN WORSE A TROgAN BANDWAGON FOOL!!! ROTFLMAO BUAHAHAHAHAHAH
FUSC!!!
no, he didn't really osenzo. "A source says the administration has a log that could support "some" of Baxter's claims"? Still doesn't say where the phone is. Still doesn't say which claims are supported (maybe only that Baxter received calls...from someone, maybe his mom? Maybe datrout?) Still ignores the improbability that 5 different schools located all across the country decided, on the same day and not before or since, to have local boosters contact Baxter on a phone they may or may not have even known about (really, why would Fresno State have his cell number? I can understand Florida since they probably called him during recruiting season). Like all of Lane's stories (just ask Seantrel), this is all BS.
USC has a long and proud tradition in college football - just like Notre Dame
But with this, I think we all can see that the pedastal is crumbling from the weight of arrogance
The arrogance I am talking about is the arrogance of thinking you are special due to some kind of 'annoiting'
Pete gone, Henderson gone... now you have Lane, Barkley, and your offense and defense is in the NFL
This will not only be a rebuilding year for USC, it will be a test of time to see if they can 'regroup' by the next decade or fall by the wayside - much like a Notre Dame
As a Duck fan, I'm suprised that I'm coming very close to feeling sorry for all you dedicated USC fans - who had no fault in the downfall of your beloved program
Oregon111, trust me if you had to live in this town with these moronic, ignorant, arrogant, delusional bandwagon fans, you would not be feeling soory for them...REJOICE!!
I am having a serious problem with the rankin of five star atheletes from small markets, except if they come from that little Samoan Island. Does anybody remember seeing SH being pushed all over the field in the Army All Star game?
Additionally, why is that unranked Southern California kids show up rosters all over the country. Utah has approx 30%. I really think there is a bais in ranking Southern California kids and Coaches know this.
Futhermore, I think that rankings maybe based upon how many schools offer a kid a scholarship or if you are recruited by Notre Dame. We should only recruit 5 star out of state atheletes and see how they stand up against Southern California kids at same position. I would have love to see a competition between SH and the Smith kid.
I wish SH good luck. We Are SC, he was not. I don't think he is going to fair well in the heat and humidity of Miami.
