We hear Pat Haden wants to supervise at least one women's sport, which follows his comments today that he is a big supporter of Title IX.

He should have taken the UCLA job. Women's sports are very important there.

TITLE IX IS WHY COLLEGE SPORTS ARE IN SUCH BAD SHAPE. AND, IT IS THE #1 REASON THERE WILL NEVER BE A PLAYOFF ON DI. NON REV SPORTS (OF WHICH 100% OF WOMENS PROGRAMS ACCOUNT FOR ACROSS THE BOARD) ARE A HUGE DRAIN ON FOOTBALL & BASKETBALL (MENS). CONFERENCES HAVE TO ALIGN WITH BOWL GAMES THAT GAURANTEE PAYOUTS TO THE CONFERENCE WHICH THEN SPLITS THE MONEY AMOUNGST THE SCHOOLS.
LOOK WHERE THE MONEY GOES. IRONICALLY THE BLUE RIBBON TITLE IX COMMISION THAT WAS PUT TOGETHER A FEW YEARS BACK DID A THROUGH REVIEW AND CAME UP WITH 1 SUGGESTION: DO AWAY WITH TITLE IX. THE RESULTS WERE QUICKLY SWEPT UNDER THE RUG AND THE COMMISSION DISBANDED AND THE RESULTS NEVER ACTED UPON OF COURSE.
TAKE TITLE IX AND SHOVE IT UP GARRETTS CAN ON THE WAY OUT THE DOOR.....
Trogans keeping it classy! I feel like I'm reading comments from people in China that only hope to give birth to a son rather than a daughter! Title IX isn't a bad concept, its the way its being enforced that is.
Take Football out of the equation and then try to go 50-50. Football is just a whole other animal and shouldn't be factored into the math.

Trojan Men NCAA titles - 77, not counting football in which there are 11 national titles.
UCLA Men NCAA titles - 70 not including football, oh that's right, they never have won a football championship.
USC Woman - 23 titles
UCLA Woman - 30 titles - 15 in softball and water polo.
Title IX has been good to UCLA.

Trojan 70, In 1954, Ohio State split it with UCLA. The two teams should have met in the Rose Bowl, but a “no-repeat” clause forced the Bruins to stay home and watch Pac-8 runner-up Southern California play the Buckeyes instead.
