So Jake probably got $150K for signing with the Angels, has to pay his own tuition and expenses for the final two years at school, and is a serious contender for the Heisman next year. I don't mean to disparage him in anyway for this, but how is that arrangement not about half as bad as what Reggie and his family did?

Shirley did not transfer, he was RELEASED - big difference, transefer ing - is what tons of trOJans are doing at the present moment.

Shirley was a great player that UCLA could have really used in the future...unlile trOJan fans, we BruWin fans don't bash those that leave our program. We wish Shirley had never taken part in that most unfortunate incident, so that he could still be a Bruin, and help UCLA kick trOJan ass the next 4 years.

Unlike USuCk, at UCLA the players get released after a knucklehead act, while at USuCk they are treated like royalty and become instant heros when stealing, assaulting, raping, murdering etc, etc.

WESTWOOD -- Three incoming UCLA football players have been arrested on suspicion of felony theft.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department records show Joshua Shirley, Shaquille Richardson and Paul Richardson - all 18-year-old freshmen - were arrested on the UCLA campus Wednesday, booked at a county jail and released early Thursday morning.
Shaquille Richardson and Paul Richardson posted $20,000 bail each and Shirley was released without posting bail, the records showed.
A UCLA police watch commander said Saturday he has no immediate information on the arrests or the alleged crimes.
Shaquille Richardson is a cornerback from Los Alamitos, Paul Richardson is a wide receiver from Gardena, and Shirley is a linebacker from Fontana.
A phone message left for a UCLA football spokesman was not immediately returned.

next up: he will probably break open a vending machine with a crowbar and steal all the change...

I think that was the original plan but something changed during the fallout and they were given their full release.

I read through Shirley's tweets and it seems like he doesn't have the best morals or consideration of others (such as females).

Don't get me wrong, I wish this never happened and he was still a Bruin, but it did and he is gone and his true colors are beginning to come out.

I'm just glad that Coach Sarc realizes that Shirly and the others were framed by a racist purse. Nobody would believe them -- just like Mel Gibson in The Fugitive!

I've got nothing against ND or UCLA. I respect both schools and their athletic programs/tradition. I'd be a fool if I didn't. My problem is with idiotic comments. And to say that both ND and UCLA will hand SC major beatings this year is to say something stupid. Yeah, the sanctions are here. But they don't come close to making up the gap in talent between SC and ND/UCLA.

Now, if either of you actually do beat us, feel free to talk trash. I'm not going to say "but look how we destroyed you for a decade"... I'll be embarrassed that we lost to an inferior team. I'll be pissed - just like I was four times last year.

and all their fans will be just like NDLarry

but what a lot of people are forgetting is that USC had very good recruiting classes the last 5 years - so the potential will still be there

the bully just has a black eye, but he is still on the playground - so it might be a little early to start celebrating USC's downfall
