I have Scott Wolf ranked last among sports writers in Southern California.
Typical
@TroyMan... Yeah, because Scott's vote before any games have been played will determine what bowl game we go to this year, right? Chill out. He's actually a very fair voter.
Funny how a sanctioned ravaged school who everyone wants to bring down is still 14th and set up perfectly to run the table and finish ap #1!
What is fcla ranked? 200?
Maybe Ap #1 if USC plays as a team.
Journalism --a vocation never known for lofty salaries-- attracts a rare set of birds. The flocks are even weirder. Maybe that explains why buffoons like Wolf are allowed to vote.
Texas at #1???
One good thing about being SC being grounded this year is that Trojans don't have to deal with the silly BCS
I know the pre-season polls come out to stir up college interest, but I wish they would not commence until about the 4th week of the season. Underdog teams that surprise are at a disadvantage because of their low early sesaon rankings i.e. too many teams to climb over
I don't know about Texas, losing their all-star quarterback, but they still are loaded...Boise State has, what 21 of 22 starters returning, so they could go undefeated...Ohio State looked real good against a very good Ducks team in the Rose Bowl...and you know Alabama and Florida will be in the mix...and ol' SC-- well, they are a bit of a darkhorse, so we shall see.
So-- let the games begin!
As on earth, too many "beings"
You guys are all making a pretty big assumption here. How do you know that Wolf -- and for that matter, ALL the AP voters -- weren't voting for the University of South Carolina? It just says "USC" up there. I bet Wolf was thinking "'COCKS!"
so which is it?? the ParaLegal says the BCS sucks, and according to Slowthinker the AP voters are a "weird flock...of buffoons"
geez Louise!! what a flock of contradictory nattering nabobs!!!
to take a page out of Sith Lord Garrett's playbook, i think what we have here is a case of "wolf envy"!!
OMG!! Eureka!! that explains the nabobs' oddly manic antipathy towards wolf, while at the same time they hang on his every word!!
Chucky bucky hangin with a ranked team. Expected behavior...
Birds of a feather?...I never really looked at it that way...but MAYBE you're onto something..science V the ostrich, knobs the turkey, and you the Dodo.
You take yourself too seriously.
This could be YOUR YEAR!
Fit on!
I think the University of South Carolina is very worthy of it's ranking 16 is about right.
This guy clearly doesnt watch much football, and has an irrational hate for the Big Ten.
Putting Wisconsin at 25 is probably the worst part of his rankings especially considering how easily Wisconsin beat Miami (who he ranks 10) in the bowl game in florida last season. The badgers have the best offensive line in the country and return ten starters from the big tens best offense last year.
This guy has no credibility and does not deserve an AP vote.
What a perfect example of why some writers should NOT be given a vote. Let's see, Wisconsin beats Miami handily in a bowl game last year (20-14, although the game was not as close as the score), yet Mr. Wolf has Miami ranked #10 and Wisconsin ranked #25. I would love to hear an explanation for this discrepancy, especially since WI returns its starting QB, top WR, and top RB (and Heisman trophy candidate in John Clay). Combine that with a top 10 offensive line, and its hard to fathom how Mr. Wolf can rationalize his decision. But at least he has UNC #22 and Cincinnati #18 (give me a break!); all I am asking is that he spend a little time reviewing the teams, their records and their potential BEFORE assigning a ranking. I'll look forward to a formal apology in January when WI finishes in the Top 10 and is playing in a New Years Day (or better) bowl.
