Pete Carroll get a victory in his first exhibition game. I'm sure he was jacked and fired up with the win. He and Jeff Fisher hugged after the game. There was a tense moment when former USC tailback Stafon Johnson was carted off the field with a dislocated right ankle.
Here's hoping the Seahawks staff had three cups of coffee ready for the dour Jeremy Bates before the game, so he did not lose it in the locker room.

Does anyone think this is insightful or funny that Wolf keeps discussing this coffee thing about Bates? OK Scott, we know you are such an inside guy that you know this about Bates, but really nobody cares.
Sounds like your hot new OC Rola Pola wasn't missed at all. Perhaps Lame Kitten should countersue Cheatey Pete and the Seachickens to take Pola back. The best OC in football works in Westwood, ladies.
He may work in Westwood but he has nothing to work with.
The victory is killing SW. He can't wait for the first loss. BTW, the Pop Gun offense worked great yesterday in Fucla's first scrimmage...for 3 plays.
My normal attitude toward Trojans past and present is to go to hell, but I felt genuinely bad when Stafon Johnson went down with the dislocated ankle. He's been through enough and deserves a spot of good luck for once...
ucla is a 1 point favorite over kansas state. and that's one of the games ucla needs to win to get to 3-9. this season will not be any fun for the bruins. it's going to be tough to recruit against that record in February...
i think all these bruin posts simply proves that the trojans are brilliantly successful.
Right you are, scinsc5
To paraphrase an L.A. Times columnist today, "SC football is so significant, not only in Los Angeles, but all over the country, that outsiders, especially ucla types, feel entitled to attack, to simplify and to memorialize their illusion of superiority." Although in bruins' cases I would call it delusion more than illusion
Of course the worst offender, and one who will not be going away, so I may as well continue to pick on the bully, is Ugly Bucket. And Ugly Bucket, all I want to say to you is stop sucking up to me-- I'm not having it.
And in case some of you missed commentary on just how ugly Ugly Bucket is, allow me your indulgence to repeat some of the ways from an earlier post: (P.S. Y'all might want to add some of your own):
1. Ugly Bucket is leaving his face to Ripley's Believe it Or not;
2. Ugly Bucket once had a girlfriend, but that was only after she had died
3. Ugly Bucket got a quote of $100,000 from a $25,000 plastic surgeon because of the extra work required.
4. Ugly Bucket once auditioned for a horror movie, but lost out when the producers told him they were looking for a more handsome monster.
The "Best OC in Football" has accomplished NOTHING since he left USC.
he's accomplished multi-millions into his bank account. that's not nothing. also some excellent recruiting and crisis management.
@scinsc5
Section 12 is right Norm Chow has done absolutely SQUAT since he's been at fucla. Hell, if Lane gets fired 3 years from now he basically accomplished everything you mentioned in your post.
scscin5, UCLA will have a better record than USC this year. At the rate of your team's injuries you'll be lucky have a 40 man roster by the third week of the season, they are getting injured even without having contact in practices. And as for your 13-0 season? ROTFLMAO (Rolling On The Floor Laughing My Ass Off), Check this out.

who's completely delusional now? ucla a better record than usc? that is funny. your usc injury comments are baseless and kevin prince is injured.
scscin5, nope. Prince just has a pulled oblique muscle and he would be ready to go if the season started today...13-0 don't be surprised of the Rainbow Warriors beat your trojans Sept. 2nd.
BruWin: you think this will have a better record than usc:? this is laughable...

During the 20-play scrimmage at the end of practice, there were a few highlights, like two nice catches by Ricky Marvray and a couple of nice runs, but there were plenty of miscues. The final play was a combination of errors, starting with an early snap Nick Crissman didn't know was coming. The ball hit the ground, Jonathan Franklin scooped it up and ran it in for a touchdown. But that was definitely not the way that was drawn up. Neuheisel said before that the team would run 20-25 plays and the day was done after.
Only three of the 20 plays went for 5 yards or more. There were the interceptions, one play for no gain, two plays for loss.
Here's Neuheisel's assessment: ``Absolutely missed assignments, missed checks, missed things that cause the play to completely break up. You can't play the play if one guy is going right and everyone else is going left. The guy who's going right is unblocked and he comes back and makes a play for a 4-yard loss. It makes everybody feel we're all doing things poorly and that's not the case. It requires everyone to be on the same page. It's a great lesson for the coaches to know how good they're coaching.''
ouch! those barbs really sting, Paralegal!
i know you are, but what am i??
that was so funny, i forgot to laugh!!
geez Louise, those are your zingers?? of course they are (they suck), but what is more telling is how long it obviously took you to construct those doozys!!

Water covers 2/3 of the earth, WOLF covers the rest!!!!!!!!!!
Here's one:
At one time Ultimate Bruin didn't need to wear a man-bra. He was 5 years old.
Good one, SD Trojan 2, although I choose not to pick on UB because, well, because he is a human being afterall despite his hate for SC. At least he keeps it real.
I only pick on human beings who act less than human; you know, the self-absorbed, "I am so great that even God bows down to me" types.
They are to me as meaningful as cockroaches, rats and the jackass.
add......They are to me as meaningful as cockroaches, rats and the jackass, and LAWYERS
and big blow bag Paralegals!!
