  1. haha, can’t believe I get to comment on this first! It’s like Christmas morning… I’m sure this is a good kid, just a bit misunderstood. He’ll fit right in at troganville – maybe roll one with Dillon, report a few fake phone calls and then run all the way across town to punch one of his new team members. Trogan ON!

  2. LOL sped!! birds of a feather eh?? (chortle-chortle)

of course the nattering nabobs will appear shortly attacking wolf for this sweeeeeeeet scooop rather than questioning why on Earth kiff would bring in a trouble maker to a team on double secret probation??

oh Kiff, you are turning out to be everything advertised…..and MORE!!!

    keep ooooooooon scooopin’ wolfman!!!!

    AUUUUUUUU-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  3. Bucket-of-Sh**,

Will you stop with the scoop stuff already. If you are Wolf, you embarrass yourself –aside from the fact that you suck as a reporter. If you’re not Wolf, then quit embarrassing the poor idiot by claiming everything is a scoop. Particularly since most of his “scoops” –like this link to the Palm Beach Post– are nothing more than cut&paste jobs from other sources. Wolf is lucky this is a blog as this allows him to almost literally plagiarize without attribution.

By the way moron, troublemaker is one word.

And for the record, I said a dick uttered the nattering nabobs line. I never said it was Richard Nixon.

  4. Free, $h!t Bucket, I mean Scott Wolf, is a total Dbag. It’s fine for SC to get rid of its awful players but wrong to take an excellent WR that got tired of being in a wannabe program, you know, like Miami, Fucla, etc. My money says this kid will make more of a positive impact on SC than Wolf ever will do.

  5. Hey bruin clowns you guys just lost another O-lineman for the year. You would think you’d be a little more concerned with how your gonna protect your QB this year than posting BS on this blog. But I get it you realize year three of the “Nueheisel Error” is fast approaching and with your mediocre line at best now missing 3 or 4 starters…Its gonna be a LONG year in bruinland!

  6. NOBS — Lane is no dummy and you have to know that PH and JKM signed off on this one, so my money is on Collier to make an impact. Fight on!

  7. wow! i called that one with deadly accuracy!!! imma gonna get my “Damn, I’m Good!!!” license plate holder out of that box in the garage!!!

trOJies stumble out from the bushes to: 1) attack wolf for simply providing a sweeeeet scooop and 2) give Kiff a pass for bringing in a trouble-maker!!! 🙂 the hyphen was for you Slllowthinker!!

and you wonder why these guys will be totally shut out of post season play this year in all three major sports!!! i wounder how long its been since this kind of futility last hit Southern Cal?? or is this gonna be a new
    low???

  8. Like I said MoronBucket. This is no scoop. Everyone knows TC was booted from the team. What Wolf missed is the obvious. There are complex underlying reasons for TC’s poor showing in Miami.

Wolf’s simplistic approach was to cut&paste rather than investigate and report. Lob a dart thrown by another paper and calls it journalism. How hard is that? Wolf is a lazy hack who would not know a scoop if one hit him on the bald spot.

Are you stupid enough to believe that this transfer is happening in a vacuum? That the AD & AAD have not blessed this move. By deriding Kiffin, you show how stupid you truly are.

The move has risks, but is also a smart chance to pick up talent before the scholarship limit. The smart money says this kid contributes. You are still an idiot.

Drop the scoop crap. It makes Wolf look stupider.

  9. Not defending Collier here, but…

Miami is one of many teams located in the southeastern US that engages in a practice known as oversigning (UCLA does it, too). This year, two Miami players were released for non-academic reasons to get to the magic 85…Thearon Collier (Jr WR) and Steven Wesley (Sr LB). Wesley’s release generated more buzz because it was speculated that he was released to make room for Seantrel Henderson, but Collier’s release was also necessary to get to 85.

Obviously, Collier must have done something to be one of the 2 of 87 to get axed, but it would be a falacy to assume that he’d have been kicked off the team if they’d had enough scholarships to retain him. Coaches rarely actually admit they dumped a kid because they oversigned. Rick, for example, usually runs them off or has some excuse that makes it look like its the kid’s fault he pulled the scholarship.

  10. Oh just wonderful, another embarrassing knucklehead mistake by my alma matter and another reason for the trolls to make fun of us. Way to go Kiffin, and way to go Haden! I see things have changed, not for the good.

  11. JUG: nice work. i don’t buy it, but good effort! you should work for a PR firm specializing in damage control!! (or do you already?)

personally, i hope the kid turns it around. making mistakes is part of growing up, i hope this kid wakes up to what a great opportunity this is for him.

did i mention this was a sweeeeet scooop by wolf?? i think i did already, but just to be safe:

    AUUUUUUUUUUUUU-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

  12. this is great, we give the kid (another w.o.) a 2 year scholarship and he can only play 1 season. lane start thinking ol and lb’s

  13. Yeah, it’s wonderful to give this kid a second opportunity, but if it had been UCLA surely, your approach would be very different. USC fans crack me up, really.

  14. Great get Trogans – and at a position of need – WR!

Of course, one of these guys is going to be the next DJ Shoemate…

My goodness Trogans…taking a guy who was excused from the University of Miami football team??? No shame…

  15. Gayley,

WR isn’t a position of need, but Collier will sit out 2010, and be eligible for 2011 and 2012. Since he was recruited in 2010, he won’t count against the scholarship limit when sanctions kick in (currently at 15/yr for 2011-13, pending appeal). He has proven that he can contribute in a major program at WR (slot)and on STs. If he can stay out of trouble, his addition can be viewed as enabling USC to get one more LB/OL in 2011 or 2012.

Although it might be better to get an early enrollee or JC transfer OL/LB by December, bringing in a guy who won’t contribute doesn’t help much. There are still a few spots for such players if Kiffin can find them.

  16. Brothers and sisters, I just got back from my post-church lunch at Harold and Belle’s, and what do I find on this blog? USC will take a kid who was too dirty for MIAMI? So much for Brother Haden throwin’ the whores out of the whorehouse. Kiffin the Pimp is callin’ the shots!

Brother Haden, you got to tell Lane Pimpin’ to be more choosy. Choosy muthas choose J.I.F.F., and by J.I.F.F. of course I mean:

    Justice
    Integrity
    Faith
    Football

See how football is fourth on the list? That’s ’cause you got to establish Justice, Integrity, and Faith to play the right kind of Football and win the right way, which is what Coach Rick is gonna do. Meanwhile, over in Whore-itage Hall, it’s dirty business as usual!

    Can I get an AMEN?

  17. since the trogans are now going after kids who need a second chance (sort of like second choice…fitting for fig tech), maybe it’s not too late to swipe Masoli from Nutt’s clutches?

  18. Amen, Brother Dupree!! give the trOJies sight, that they may see the LIGHT!!!

Sped, don’t you think Kiff called him asap?? Masoli turned the trOJies down! “too risky” he reportedly said!
