A reader pointed out this article where Pete Carroll talks about how he traded for quarterback Charlie Whitehurst because Seawhawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck because, ``it was a great opportunity to send a message to the leader of the football team that he needs to compete too.''
The same reader wanted to know why Carroll did not feel the need to employ a similar philosophy with players like Joe McKnight and Matt Barkley last season?

Maybe he learned from his mistake with Joe McKnight.

If Wolf wants to do an article on Seattle, maybe he should look at one of the seven Trojans currently on the Seahawks roster.
